It's fine to carry him, they say up to 20 lbs but you can do a little more. They also say later in your preg when you can't pick him up to always blame it on your back rather than the baby to avoid additional hostility. My lo is 18 months and I was worried as well. This was all in the book, "What to expect when you're expecting" may want to pick up a copy. Good luck. ↑

Newbaby, only 10 lbs? Why? Are you having complications? That must be sooo hard. ↑

I thought it was up to 40lbs for a norm pregnancy? If not then I have been doing way too much. My daughter is 24 lbs and we are in the process of moving which I have been helping and lifting too much... ↑

I am 36 weeks and have a 28 month old that I have to pick up now and then. She is old enough to understand that I need her to get up on the couch for me to get her, or on her toy box when we are in her room. I really try not to pick her up directly from the floor. She weighs 30 pounds, and it is getting really hard. Other than it killing my back, I never worried about picking her up. I have never had any pregnancy complications, not even spotting with this pregnancy. Maybe my cervix is made of steel! LOL. ↑
