I am on clomid 150mg now and doing IUI's. I can take a preg test next Monday, so I'M waiting. yuck.
Can you tell me what the Clomid Challenge is? I have never heard that term before and have taken clomid for 3 months this time and got preg after 3 months 2 years ago with my son....
Do you know what the IUI increases your chances of getting preg to? I can't remember what my Dr told me. It was so long ago that we talked about all that. Now we just go in and do it.
Thanks so much ↑
Clomid Challenge test is when the Dr checks your blood levels for FSH at day 3 and day 11 or 12 . With taking clomid from days 5-9. It lets them know how well the doasge is working with your body to induce ovulation. I do think IUI and clomid increase getting pregnant. Due to the sperm not having to travel as far, where as normally they get weeded out at the cervix. Hope this helps ↑
Thanks for letting me know what clomid challenge is. All I had done was ultrasounds on dayy 12.
So, I know I shouldn't have done this, but I couldn't resist. I did the hCg injection on Sat the 18th, IUI on the 20th. I took a preg test yesterday and this morning. It came back positive, but I worry that it is residual hCg. Anyone know how long that sticks around for? I really shouldn't have tested until this Monday (labor day). I am so nervous, and wish I hadn't had done that. ↑
Hello Everyone! It is really nice that this forum is getting active again. Brie1227, I tested for a pregnancy about 1 week ago at my sister in laws house. It showed -. I did not want her to know so I put it in my purse to dispurse of when I went home. By the time I went home, it had changed to +. I was scared it was an evaporation line so I did ALOT of research since it was to late to buy another test. If it is an evaporation line, it will generally not have any color at all, almost grey like and very, very faint. I took 2 more test the following day and they are both ++. I am 5 weeks and 5 days along. I took 100mg clomid days 3-7 and showed 6 mature follicles. I have to wait until Sept 18 to see if there is more than one. Good Luck!!! ↑
congrats Hollyrae. That is so great! Did you do the hCg? My worry is that I tested too early and it's the hCg injection showing up, not a true pregnancy result. I am getting different days for how long hCg stays in your system. Some say 10, some 12, some 14? Who knows. I guess I'll have to wait a few more days.
I'm so happy for you! ↑
Hey Brie! I misunderstood you slightly previously, sorry. Isn't waiting the worst part ever? I swear it can near drive a women insane :). Hopefully things will work out for you this month. How long have you been on clomid for? Do you have other chilren? It took me 3 rounds, I have no other children and am 22years of age. I did not do the injections but that was my next process if just the clomid would not have worked. I hope it works for you :) ↑
i talked to my Dr.'s office yesterday and they are having me come in Tues for a blood test. That is 15 days post IUI. Today is 13 days post hCg injection and the test this morning came back positive again. She said she felt good about it. Especially since a few months ago, I tested on day 10 post hCg and it was negative. Now, 3 days in a row it has been positive.
I really hope it is. That would be pretty devestating now.
Hollyrae, do you know if you are having twins? Didn't you say you had 6 follicles? WOW. I only had 1. ↑
BRIE-good morning!! I used Gonal-F injections with the Ovidrel trigger. I tested positive for pregnancy at 8dp IUI........I thought maybe it was the trigger still in my sytem because I really only tested that early for fun. LOL.......well, it stayed positive until my blood test!! I am now currently almost 14 weeks pregnant with twins!! It figures...I had 2 great follicles and they both took. It's been a long 3 years, so twins will be nice!! (I did clomid for over 9 months and femara for 2 months. I also had the lap surgery due to endo.) I wish you the best of luck!!! (I think it will stay positive!!!) Do you know what kind of trigger you took and the dosage amount?? It's the dosage amount that determines how long it stays in your system. (just fun facts for you....) GOOD LUCK!!! ↑
Hey Everyone! montie75.. congrats on your twins. You must be so excited. I am still waiting until september 18 to see if I am having more than 1. I had 6 mature follicles... so I am REALLY curious. What were your early signs that lead you to suspect that you were having twins? I am almost in my 6th week. The wait is driving me crazy. Brie.... i hope that you are pregnant... would this be your first? ↑
HI Holly!! Actually, I didn't have a clue I was pregnant with twins until my fertility doc. did an u/s at 5 weeks 4 days. I have had no m/s or anything. My bb's were sore from the day of ovulation till now. HAHAHAHA. I honestly didn't know. When the tech told us we had twins, my husband fell out of his chair. It was the funniest thing. Now, he is the happiest dad to be - I have ever seen!!! I am very excited for you!! Would you like to have twins?? ↑
Hey Monty! I feel pretty good right now as well. No m/s, booobs sore since ovulation, and ALWAYS COLD. I can not seem to stay warm enough. hahaha! Anyways, honestly whatever God gives me I will be ecstatic. Yes twins would be great, so would 1, so would 3. Whatever. Unfortunately my ob/gyn wanted to wait until I was 8 weeks to count how many.... just in case there is more than 2. He said at 8 weeks there would no second guessing himself :) Is this your first pregnancy? ↑
hello everyone! i am 23, i have a 4 yr old girl, but i haven't be able to conceive since her. i am now on my 2nd round of clomid. i'm taking 100mg, i am on cd 16. i had iui that showed 3 mature eggs, they gave me the hcg shot, but i don't know if i conceived. i guess i have to wait a couple more weeks and see if af comes. anyone with this problem? ↑
Hiya everyone.i'm 19 years old..i've had 2 miscarriage and a cycle that is about 42 days long..i'm on cycle day 26 and i have yet to ovulate acording to temping..i've had tons of ewcm and justnothing is showing up on my temping chart..i feel a little lost and want to go onto up clomid after maybe talking to my doctor about it...to see if it will help me conceive..i know the risk of multiples even though i just want one.....i'm very scared after hearing that clomid is dangerous...and would like someone to talk to abou it.....anyone? ↑
I have not heard that Clomid wasn't safe or that it was dangerous. I would really talk to your Dr. about the risks and benefits of taking it. Personally, I think it's the miracle drug! We used it to conceive my son back in 2005, and we have found out for sure that I am pregnant again.
Ashleym, I took a HPT 11 days post hCg injection and it came back positive. But I know they like you to wait to test until 14 days post IUI. I just couldn't wait that long. I had my blood test yesterday and everything looks good. Keep us posted on how the test comes out. I'll wish for baby fo ryou!!! ↑
BRIE-I am very happy for you!!! That is wonderful news.....did you have a high beta result? It's so funny because I got pregnant this round with a friend. My betas were high, but hers were even higher.........the funny part is she is only having one while I am having twins!! HAHAHAHAH...Holly, no...this is not my first pregnancy. I have a wonderfully bossy....9 year old daughter whom thinks she knows everything...HAHAHAHA, I am kidding. She is a great girl. Shall we start a new thread for us?? This one seems long and the beginning is out dated......(2004) What do you ladies think? What would you like to call it?? Let me know.... ↑
If we start a new thread, how to do we get to it?
I had my second blood test this morning, will ge tthe results later this afternoon.
My level was 232 on Tuesday. That is 15 days post IUI. What were your levels? They told me that at this stage, they wanted to see it between 100 and 200. So the 232 looked good. mONTIE75, How many follicles did you have? ↑
Hi, I am also new to this. My husband and I have been TTC #2 for 2 years. I was on BC when my son appeared, he is now 3 will be 4 in Nov. I have irregular periods and there is no reasoning behind it. My Dr. put me on Provera for 10 days and Clomid for 5 days on days 5-9. I have been reading on this forum that most of you ladies have been having better luck on days 3-7. Right now I am on day 15 and I am feeling cruddy. I dont know if its a side effect from Clomid or what is going on. I have no energy, am tired, and having some pains by my belly button and lower. I was just wondering if any of you other ladies have also felt this cruddy? Best of wishes to you all, Keri ↑
Hey Kerry! I took Clomid for 3 months before I became pregnant. The first round I did days 3-7, the second round i did 5-9 and then the third round i went back to 3-7. It seemed to make me ovulate earlier on days 3-7 but I do not think it really matters! I did felt crummy on Clomid. In fact, I feel much better now that I am 6.5 weeks pregnant than I ever did on Clomid. Good Luck. I know it is a stressful process but It is definitely worth all of the crummy stuff. --Holly ↑
Congrats Holly!!! So happy to hear a success story from Clomid. I got up this morning feeling better than yesterday, but it seems to hit in the afternoon. Good luck with your pregnancy...and baby dust to all! ↑
Hi ladies. Ok i am in my second month on clomid and I am reading that the rate of twins is high. I would be so happy. My husband and i have been trying for the past two years. Everyone has been very helpful in thier own way. thanks ↑
I am 8.5 weeks pregnant and did clomid this time, as well as with my son. Both were single pregnacies. I was 100mg with my son, and 150mg this time around. Also did IUI this time. Good luck to you all! ↑
I'm on my 3rd month of clomid. the first 2 months I still didnt ovulate, so they kept increaseing it, now I'm at 150mg, I'm hope this month it works. The hot flashes are so bad. Any tips? I did the ovulation kit so we've been doing our thing everyday for 4 days around that positive test so far ↑
Hello Everyone! It has been a while since my last post! Unfortunately I did not make it to my appt to find out how many I was having! Rather I miscarried at 8 weeks :( It was not easy especially after the long infertility process however my husband and I are hopeful! At least we know we can get pregnant! They believe that there was only one baby! I am just waiting for my cycle to resume to begin clomid! If it does not, I will need to use provera again! My prayers are with ALL of you going through this difficult journey! :) This is definitely a process which will make us much stronger women! --Holly ↑
Holly - I'm so sorry for your loss. I agree that now you know you can get preg. you are one step closer! Did anyone see Ophra about babies being serogate from India? 12,000 instead of 75,000 in the u.s ↑
