Hollyrae, I am so sorry to hear your news. That must have been so difficult for you. Keep faith that you will get pregnant again quickly. Now you know the doses of the meds you need to take and like she said, you can get pregnant. Did they happen to test your hCg and progesterone? A good friend of mine miscarried at 8 weeks and her progesterone was low, so when she got pregnant a couple months later, they had her take progesterone as soon as she found out she was pregnant. She now has a beuatiful 3 year old little boy. I'm sure your Drs do everything they can, but I just thought I'd suggest it in case it might help with the next pregnancy.
I will keep you in my prayers and hope that the time passes quickly and you get preg again.

Yes, I saw oprah. Wow. What a journey those women go on. you guys take care and I'll be thinking of you.

I am feeling great, thanks. Just tired. I wasn't sick at all with my son and haven't been sick this time either. Thank goodness. I haven't decided if I want to find out. THere's something kind of magical about waiting and being surprised.

Brie - I agree I wouldn't find out either. You are lucky to not have any m/s. Do you think its twins? they say you get a feeling? What dose did you take again?

Rowan, no it's not twins. I was on 150mg the month I got preg.

Hi everyone.
WOW, what an informative thread ! So glad I found it !
I'm just after a bit of encouragement really. I'm unexplained infertility (I ovulate every month, HSG clear, bloodwork fine, SA Normal) and I am in the 2 week wait on my first cycle of clomid (100mg days 2-6).
I got a positive OPK on Monday which was CD16 (knew I would because like I said I ov on my own anyway). We have BD'd at all the right times !! I'm sick of it if you know what I mean !!!
I had strong Ov pains on Monday & Tues. I hope this means I'm releaseing more than one egg !

Andrea - sounds like you took of all your basis. Now the waiting begins again. The mind is an important part of fertility. Remember what you think you create. Baby dust! Brie how r u feeling?

I have a question?... when you talk about trying to day 3-7 or 5-9 what when does that start? Is day 1 on the first day of your period? Help I don't know

Name: hollyrae | Date: Apr 23rd, 2008 1:42 PM
Hey ACD! CD1 refers to the first day of your cycle... the first day not just spotting. The first day you need a tampon or pad is considered CD1. I have done clomid 7 times, 3 pregnancies, 3 miscarriages. We are just in the beginning stages of a private adoption. I have heard alot of success with clomid. Blessings to you and your family!

Hi all,
it's been a long time.
Hollyrae, I am happy to hear about you adopting. That is so wonderful. We have some neighbors down the street that just brought home their baby. She was 3 days old. I will keep you in my thoughts for a fast process.
Rowan, are you still out there?

We just had our baby girl on May 2nd. The labor was so fast. I went from 4cm to 10 in 5 minutes. One push and out she flew! She is beautiful and I'm so happy we have her. So now we have an almost 21 month son and a 2 week old. It's busy, but I still want more. Call me crazy!
I hope you all are doing ok. This post did get long, but it was nice to reread everyones posts.
Good luck to all of you.

baby dust!

Hi everyone. I have enjoyed reading all the comments.
We have been ttc for 4 years, we have a son whom is 5 now and we conceived naturally but took 18 months. I have recently found out i have pcos but i ovulate still. I feel very tearful today as tomorrow i start my first dose of Clomid so i think i am scared incase it doesn't work! and also having multiple births is not something to take lightly. Has anyone taken Clomid (50mg) and used natural progesterone cream after they have ovulated and become pregnant this way? I am pleased to be able to right my thoughts and talk to like minded people who understand what trying for a baby is really like!!!!!!

Hi there Millieoliver, i too started Clomid 50mg,but my doctor had to up the dosage because that was not working, now i am on 100mg days(5-9) and i am on cd 26 with no ovulation yet...but thats is also because my periods are very irregular. we have been trying to have a baby now for 1 1/2 and it's been really frusturating. We just want this clomid to work for us. I hope this month i ovulate....so im just waiting patiently this month.!!

Oop's sorry, forgot to tell you, also on 1000 mg Glucophage daily. I have one beautiful 2 yr old daughter also :O)

Name: brie1227 | Date: Oct 9th, 2008 8:56 PM
i was also on metformin both pregnancies.
i started out on 50mg of clomid with my son and ended up at 100.
With my daughter, we started at 100 and ended at 150 with metformin and IUI.

My friend just delieverd twins on Monday and she was on 50mg of clomid. She never had an ultrasound to check HOW MANY follicles. When she went in for an ultrasound to confirm preg, there were 3 sacs. (OH MY). Only 2 took and she had 2 girls this past monday. However, twins are all over her family.
All you need is ONE good follicle. :)
I'll be thinking about you. Good luck.

Hi Andrea, I was 21 weekes when I had to go to a early laber and my 2 babies boys did pass way after a few minutes in my arms. I got pg spontaneous. It was a really sad experience. It was back in july. Im waiting until december and will start taking clomid 50mg to try to get pg of twins again but I feel like you... cant take the pain of losing two again but we need to try. So, tell me if you will start taking on the 5th day or what? I will take on my 5th day but I really dont understand how it works.

i am so so sorry for both of your losses. i can't even imagine what it has been like for you. my deepest sympathy.

Please be VERY careful with unprescribed medicine such as clomid. there are serious serious risks to this. i am not here to judge you---god knows how badly you want more babies, i am simply urging you not to do it that way. you could take something that could potentially be harmful to you if you dont know the exact origin of the medication.
i hope things work out for you and I hope you both have beautiful healthy babies to come.
take care

one more thing....
when you take clomid you should be monitored by a Dr. they should be doing ultrasounds on you each month if you DON'T conceive to make sure your ovaries are not overstimulated and rupture.
if your ovaries are hyperstimulated and you take clomid the following cycle, you can really get hurt and possibly ruin your ability to get pregnant again. Please just be careful.

Hello everyone, I had a miscarriage in 2005 due to fibroid tumors destorting my uterus. After three years of trying off and on, I decided to go to an infertility doctor. She wants me to try 100mg Clomid on days 5-9. I start Nov. 1, 08. I am so afraid that the fibroids will cause another miscarriage. Has anyone experienced this?

Aloha from Kaua'i, Hawaii...thank u so much for keeping this thread alive...I've read most of the posts and have gained a wealth of information. I'm about to start my 3rd cycle of Clomid (up to 100 mg) on days 4-9 (beddin on 12, 14 & 16) and recently increased to 1500 mg of Metformin/day. My husband and I have been ttc for 2 years. I have 2 girls, 11 & 8, from a previous marriage but my husband doesn't have any of his own (although he treats my girls like they were). I just turned 30 and he's 29 and anxiously wanting to get pregnant. After having my 8 yo, I had a IUD (Copper T) which I never had any problems with. It was only after I removed it that my cycles went crazy. I did have a cyst removed from my left ovary as well as a laporoscopy and my hubby has had a semen analysis that was a little low but nothing to worry about. I've been noticing an increase in the number of twin births on my little island and we definitely wouldn't mind twins one bit. But nonetheless we just want a healthy baby....thank u all for sharing and I wish you many baby blessings!!!!
