I am around 8 weeks and 6 days. When I was 6 weeks 6 days, I had some bleeding and went to the ER. They did a vaginal u/s and was able to see the sac but no fetus. My HCG was over a 11,000 at the time. I went back 3 days later and it was over 18,000. My OB'GYn did another ultrasound last week and was able to get a hearbeat but could still not see the baby. My HCG was over 37,000. I have to go back next week for another u/s, Has this happened to anyone else? I am concerned because I am 34 and this is my first pregnancy. ↓
Sometimes at that early, you don't actually see a fetus as everything is so teeny tiny. However you will see a "flicker" which is the heartbeat. If you are unsure of anything at your next scan, ask your doctor. Thats what they are there for. Congrats and best of luck. ↑
