warning- this is long.
so this is probably a supremely stupid question but im asking anyway. and im probably giving you too much info but thats alright.
i dont really know the terminology around here and i dont chart or anything so bear with me.
i got my period on april 21st. my cycle is always 28 days. i have no idea when i ovulate since i dont check it but im assuming it would be 14 days passed the start of my period.
we typically use condoms on the 'i think im ovulating' days because were in the 'not trying, not preventing' stage. well, on may 8th we had sex, no condom, because i assumed we'd be somewhat safe at that point.
today, however, i start slighty bleeding. i realize its only 3 days early but its just off. (and im not stressed, i havent been exercising etc. etc.)
i thought it was my period but it started at around 12 (and i always start first thing in the morning) and id be heavy at this point (with a normal period), but im not. its like off and on type of thing (sometimes light pink, then a brownish coloring). its just weird.
so, anywho, my question is, could this be implantation bleeding? if so, when is the earliest i could test?

well, just from reading.... supposedly hcg can be detected in urine about 12 -14 days after conception. If you conceived on the 8th or 9th, that would put you testing sometime between 22nd and 25th. And as far as Ovulating at day 14 of your cycle.... not necessarily true for all women... Also, since you had been on bc, you deffinitely could have o'd that late (the 8th). Good luck! ↑

when i was pregnant it happend like this i had stopped bcp in jan 07 and was getting married in march so we wanted to start asap. i got my period on march 6th and i either conceived literally right before or after it cuz on the march 14th i got period cramps and thought great im getting married it this happens. no bleeding and then on th 16th i had very light spotting or what was the start of my implantation bleeding. it came and went and then the next week after lots of sex since we were honeymooners i was bleeding. it was not like me so the day we left for our honeymoon i called the doctor and she said to take a test and sure enough i was. i m/c a few weeks later and still no luck. ↑

It could be implantation bleeding. If the 8th was the only day you had unprotected sex, it would seem a little late in your cycle, but definitely not impossible (I sometimes ovulate on cd17 and have 26-29 day cycles). Generally the advice is not to test until you have actually missed a period - easier said than done I know! Good luck. ↑
