Answer: yes sally it is normal to feel fine for a few days at a time i was sick like that for a few days and then i was fine i found that i had had a case of the flu. not morning sickness. but it is also common in morning sickness to feel fine for a few days and bad the next 10 you never know. now that i am towards the end of my preg i find that i am sick everymorning and most of the day....good luck to you  =

Answer: I'm 9 weeks pregnant and I have had morning sickness since about 5 weeks pregnant. I find eating something like crackers in the morning makes me feel better. And some nights I even sleep with a pack on the side of me for those mid-night snacks, because if I eat something too heavy it will all come back up. =

Answer: when i was in my first trimester i was so naseated all the time. never actually vomitted but felt like i needed to all day. I tried everything to try to help me, everyone suggest things but until you try multiple things you will find one that works for you. Here are a few things to try mylanta (coats your tummy) tums (work for me) crackers, plain bagels, gatorade. I have to say that I tried a lot of different things but the thing that worked for me was gatorade and tums. Sometimes even a glass of milk but you may have to wait until some of it lessens. I also found that as long as I ate very bland foods that I was a lot better. My doctor told me that the naseau was created by too much acid in your stomach, so watch what you eat. The mylanta and tums you can take safely as directed on the bottle. You will make it through, I am 22 weeks now and feel great! Good luck!!!! =

Answer: I can tell you that i had tried every possible thing suggested for nasea and nothing i mean nothing worked, I had to suffer, it started with just being naseous then it turned into vomitting all day everyday, i am now 32 weeks pregnant and i still dont feel so hot, good luck on your pregnancy =

Answer: Morning sickness is worst when your blood sugar levels are low. So, ironically enough, the less you eat, the less you feel like eating - viciuos cycle. Try taking some juice to get your levels up, then try to force yourself to eat something every couple of hours and see if that helps. =

Answer: If it is that bad go to the ER .. I had to & they gave me medicine & within a couple of days or regualry taking it when they told me to, it helped a ton ... because if you wait until the dr appt you could get dehytrated, I did & that's why I had to go ... so be safe & go now, they can't turn you away =

Answer: I'm sorry you feel this way at 4 weeks, but I guess it's all a big part of being pregnant. I am 27 weeks, and stilkl have morning sickness almost everyday, and actually throw up about 2x a week, it's horrible. It is a lot worse when I eat or drink anything with sugar in it in the morning. Even coffee or juice. So, if i stick to water and carbs in the morning I'm usually okay:) =

Answer: Try sucking a boiled sweet, I have lemon hard boiled sweets in individual wrappers, the old fashioned kind where you buy them out of a bottle and get them weighed! the odd one really helps to gently sooth it away, And i also find Ice cream - it temp numbs that yuky feeling cause its so cold, either get stuck in with a spoon or put loads in a pint glass and let it melt down a little, its yummy and really helps. Im 7weeks and feel really yuky all day and all night its awful - you just have to make yourself as comfortable as you can to get by the next few weeks. Sleeping helps loads - you cant feel sick when you asleep, so sleep as much as pos, just to pass time - Remember its only temp!! Good Luck to everybody xxx =

Answer: Finally someone I can really relate too! I am 12 weeks today and my nausea is just letting up a little. I was severely sick from week 5 until week 10. Completely miserable!!! I was vomiting, on average, 5 times a day and sometimes up to 12 times. Twice I went to the ER and was given an IV for my electrolytes and the Rx phenegren for the nausea. On my 2nd visit to the ER they admitted me into the hospital overnight ans gave me the Rx Zofran. Zofran helped more than anything! The phenegren they gave me just made me sleep. Before the Zofran I felt bad from am to pm. I couldn't keep ANY food or liquids down and my husband was really freaking out. I have never known anyone else that had nausea like me. I thought it would never go away. I was put on a special diet that may help you. I ate plain chicken broth, jello, popsicles and crackers and could only drink ginger ale, tea, and pedialyte. I am still careful of what I eat. Good luck! =

Answer: Maybe it's the British in me, but I find food items that contain vinegar and salt are helpful, particularly dill pickles, Whole Foods Mkt. Organic french fries with malt vinegar and salt on top, and Boulder brand Malt Vinegar & Salt potato chips (also at Whole Foods and other health stores and depts.). I couldn't believe the crackers and ginger didn't really help. In fact, the smell of ginger alone made me gag. Don't overdo the chips, though, as too much greasy food only adds back to the problem. Just eat enough to feel better. =

Answer: I had many suggestions when I had m/s, however none of them worked, turned out I had hyperemisis which is the extreme form of m/s, I was hospitialised to get my fluid intake up as I was peeing once a day and not able to ingest anything, it lasted 3 months. I'm not trying to scarey you, but I was very naive and thought it was normal, it wasn't. I was very sick, my baby was fine, but I wasn't enjoying life or even functioning. Try everything everyone suggest, ginger, peppermint tea, salt and vinegar crisps, lightly flavoured mineral water, strawberries, dry toast before you get out of bed, crackers with a tiny bit of cheese, try standing on your head if someone suggests it, cos anything is worth a go, if you are dehydrated then you will find it difficult to pull yourself back from that and will need some assistance. I tried all the natural suggestions, I tried b6, medication from the doctor, I ended up havign to use supositories after my hosiptial visit (very unpleasent), but you do what you have to. I had my son in last June, and before I had him I was certain her was going to be an only child due to my pregnancy experiences, two days after giving birth I was talking of number two. Thankfully God designed us to forget these horros, m/s and birth. Good job too, or the worlds population would be of the rapid decline. All the best, remember take each day as it come, don't do too much, get your friends and family to help out, cooking, cleaning etc, to leave your partner to care for you. =

Answer: take lots of prenatal vitamins (w/all-natural ingredients like beta carotene for vitamin A...not palmitate) but not the over-the-counter prescription prenatals..they don't absorb into your bloodstream like the real good stuff... they cost nuts amount of money but don't deliver on their promises(if it's a tab form don't take it..that's a warning sign of dead vitamins, plus they're dangerous if you overdose because of those lame-o ingredients)...I take the PRE-NATAL CARE vitamins by TWINLAB...(in capsule-form)they are awesome I can feel the difference in my body when I take them, for one thing when I was nursing I didn't get sick and throw up when I took them...if I took those cheesy prescription vitamins I get sick and throw up-can't hold my food down(like i was pregnant even though I was only nursing, STILL... I WAS feeding another besides me)...I was nursing my first child when I got pregnant w/the second and my body just stopped producing milk sooo...weening time! But this time I was nursing the 2nd and my breasts kept producing...the nausea was overwhelming...I was eating salad everyday...now I'm sick of it..taking lots o the vitamins w/whatever I can handle was the best bet...but the nausea didn't pass until a week after I weaned my boy down to nap and nightime nursing(only twice a day for maybe 10 to 20 mins)..so how healthy you are and the food and vitamins you take...the kind of nutrition is actually being absorbed into your body can account for the nausea...eat alot of healthy food (whole grain bread not white, for one) get good vitamins and be faithful in taking them and nausea should pass, (all doctor will say is carry crackers around and drink lots of water and prescribe nausea reducing vitamins so you need to deal w/it on your own) ;) =

Answer: Be careful aith taking LOTS of vitamins though, too much of some vitamins can actually be bad. I find that fruit helps. I keep oranges, tangerines, grapes, all the good stuff that I like around the house. I think it is the sugar in the fruit that helps. This way it is healthy & heps keep you hydrated and helps with the sickness. The first week or so I did the cracker and bread thing and gained about 5 pounds. Don't ever let your stomach get empty. Eat a little something every 2-3 hours even if you are not hungry, just get it down so your tummy has something in it. My sickness started at about 6w2d and I'm now 9w2d and it is still there. =

Answer: try the accupressure wristbands that are now being sold for car sickness. They work quite well. If its not enough then a good accupuncturist should be able to give you some relief without drugs and safely (the chinese have been using this for 4000+ years for morning sickness and its worth a try). =

I carry granola bars in my purse and if I feel the slightest bit hungry I eat. I find lots of small snacks are easier to handle than larger meals. =

I'm on my second baby and the sickness was much worse this time, couldn't hold down anything, vomited like mad. I guess they sell this in Canada as an anti morning sickness drug specifically for preg women. Try it, I swear it worked like a charm, even the first time I took it. =

I know it's hard but you should try crackers, plain toast and vernors. you need to make sure you get something on your stomach for the benefit of you and the baby. I got sick a lot and it's no fun, but the good news is, it does get better. I'm 39 weeks now and the first trimester was the worst for me. the rest went pretty well and I'm sure the same will ring true for you! good luck! =

Answer: Experiment with different foods to find what eases your nausea. I found that I felt the worst when I didn't eat at least every 2 hours. What worked for me was bagels, potato chips, and Spaghettios & Franks. After the first 3 months I actually got worse, and then started eating ginger chews when I felt that urge to vomit (if you have a Cost Plus World Market where you live, they sell them there). It would take the edge off and I could avoid vomiting. I finally started feeling better at about 5 and 1/2 months, but still have to eat as soon as I get up or I feel sick (38 weeks now). Good luck! =

Answer: Lisa, sorry you are having this problem, I can't believe a doc will not see you if you are having symptoms like that. I had severe morning sickness with vomiting the first 4 months, I am now 5 1/2 and feel lots better. Water even made me sick and I still have to wait till the pm to drink water. I ended up in the hospital 4 times for dehydration and was on 2 different forms of meds, I can not suggest anything because nothing, I mean nothing helped me. So be care about dehydration, my organs were wanting to shut down on me some. But I found jello, bland foods, gatorade and crackers were the easiest for me. Even if I got sick it wasn't too bad when I did vomit with those types of foods. I am still feeling naucious at least once a day now still, but am not having all of the vomitting just once in a while. Just keep your head up, also watch for depression, but I got severly depressed the 1st trimester because I couldn't eat, drink or move off the couch, talk to your doc about that also if it happens. Wishing everyone luck! =

Answer: I didn't have any real morning sickness until one day at about 7and 1/2 wks i was horribly ill! I went to the Dr. like I had the flu! Then once I became better from that I was not sick at all until just about 2 days ago at 9 1/2 weeks I felt the same way only worse. I was sick like 8 times in one day! And now I am fine again. It just is taking alot out of me to do it all in one day. Has anyone experienced this and is it normal or is it the flu? =

Answer: I am 12 weeks 2 days today, and I still have morning sickness. Mine began at week 8 and has continued since then. It was so bad that my doctor prescribed me some phenegran....since it makes me so sleepy, I usually take 1/2 a pill in the morning and the other half mid morning instead of the whole thing at one time. It is suppose to help you keep food down and keep you from feeling nausea...BUT, it doesn't always work for me.....for example, last week, I was sick throwing up Monday morning before work, and Friday morning before work, but the rest of the week I was fine. Then over the weekend, I was absolutely miserable....I threw up 3 times Saturday, to the point I was throwing up bile, and one time on Friday while I was in the middle of eating something. I don't know what's worse, vomiting on an empty stomach or full....its DISGUSTING!!! I guess during the week I'm on a routine and the weekends, I sleep in, and sometimes that means skipping breakfast....so I'm going to start getting up regular time on Sat. and Sun. and do my regular routine...I have found that very little satisfies me. Chocolate milk has been a life saver! I drink it all the time.....I also drink Gatorade in moderation....these are the only two liquids I can keep down.....occasionally I'll sip on some water, but it usually makes me throw up. As far as food.....anything with bread has worked well. I really crave spaghetti right now, but the acid in the sauce KILLS my stomach and leaves me with severe indigestion and nausea....I usually don't eat meals, I just munch....jello, popsicles, toast, cheeze nips, salt-vinegar chips (in moderation), apple sauce, grapes, sliced apples (in moderation as well because of the acid), and sandwiches or subs. Thats about it! So, if you have any other suggestions for me, please enlighten me!!!!! Thanks, and it is nice to know I'm not the only one hanging over the toilet every day!!! =

Answer: I am about 7 1/2 weeks and am just now starting to feel some relief. I started getting all day sickness at about 3wks and everyone thought my conception date was wrong but its not I am just expecting twins. My sickness is off and on all day and am in the middle of transferring to a different job that is less stressful and alot less lifting. If their is any way to stay at home for like a week when your really sick I would recommend that or at least to not be driving too much that can make you more sick. I have done every thing just like everyone else and there just isn't much to do. Just try to stay optomistic. Remember the light at the end of the tunnel. =

Answer: I am going on 8 wks and I have been so sick that I can't seem to keep anything down. I have to waite 3 more weeks to see my doctor. I went to Wal-Mart and bought "Sea-Bands" the pharmacy said women use them for morning sickness. At first they started to work great, but eventually they wore off. That could be an option to check into. I wish I could get rid of this morning sickness...I feel like I have the flu.  =
