i want to get my daughters 6 month photos done this week but i dont know where to go...for her 3 month i got it done at walmart because thats all i could afford but i thought it would be fun to get more poses and stuff that they offer at some of the other studios. they dont list any prices on their sites on purpose im sure...i was curious how much you have paid at different studios and how much you got for it...im thinking places that are nationwide like sears, jcpenneys, kiddie kandids...do they allowyou to just buy seperate sheets too instead of packages? i was thinking of just getting 8x10s of her poses and then scanning them and printing them myself but i dont know if you can order other than the packages... ↓
Sears is really good. I always go there. You can get packages for under $100 and they give you a CD with ALL the poses on it, even the bad ones you didn't pick for printing, so you can put it on your computer if you want to. I even had my wedding portraits taken there and they turned out great for less than $500. ↑
We've gotten really good pictures from a Chain called Portrait Innovations. They take a ton of poses. You can buy the pictures by sheets. You can spend as much or as little as you want. You also get a disc with all the poses on it, even the ones you didn't buy. There are 2 versions of the photos on the disc, one you can access, save on your computer, and print off yourself, and the other version is higher quality which you can not access, but which you can take back to the store and order more any time you want. My sister in law always prints off the copies she gives relatives from her disc at home. With good photo paper, the quality seems fine to me. ↑
I also like JC Penney. They have coupons that give you inexpensive sheets and I think that their pictures are very good. I have also gone to Sears--they are good, too--but I have found that in the end Penny's is less expensive and slightly higher quality. At Sears you have to buy so many sheets at the regular price before you can get the discount, but at Penny's each sheet was discounted. (you can get the coupons on the website) Oh yeah, and if you can pick a single pose you can get a descent sized package for about $8--and if you join the portrait club it is--I think--about $25 for two years and then you pay no sitting fees. We have three kids so it pays for itself at one visit! ↑
I love jc penney because the pictures are cheap and you don't have to buy a package. With the coupon, a sheet is $4 and you can choose which pose and which size picture (ex. pose A in 4x5, pose B in a 5x7, pose C in an 8x10). The quality is pretty good. It takes a few weeks for the pictures to come in, so if you go for a holiday shot, go a few weeks in advance. They also have cute enhancements, although it drives the price up. Good luck ↑
We just went to pennys for 6 month photos. DD cried the whole time, so we only got 7 shots of her not crying!! ugh...the other ladies are right..they have lots of coupons with VERY good deals. You can get no sitting fee, a free 8x10, and sheets for 3.99. If you go with the traditional shots ( the ones that they dont enhance) you could get one of the 8x10s for free and then each of the others for 3.99. So you could really get 10 great photos for less than $20. WARNING..they get you with the enhancements though..changing the photo to black and white makes a huge difference in the pic. Enhanced sheets are 14.99. We opted for enhancements and got 2-10x13s, 12-5x7s, 32-wallets, joined the picture club and got our free 8x10 and spent...$137.00 I would recommend them for the price. ↑
With my two kids (age 5 years and 6 months) we've gone through several photo studios depending on where we had the membership at the time. Started with Picture People and it's nice to get your pic's right away and the poses are very cute, but I think they're a little pricy and they also decide which poses they think are the best, and only print those to show you. (At least that's how mine worked.) So you only get to choose between about 5 poses even if they took 15. We used Sears next and liked them a lot. I don't remember the CD though, but maybe that's new. They have an enhancement that JCPenney doesn't have that's black & white with color accents. Like having the whole picture b&w except for the flower or hat in the picture, etc. I loved those pictures, and was disappointed when we got a membership at JCP next and found out they didn't have that. But JCP does seem to be the cheapest for individual basic prints and I like their quality too. I usually splurge on at least one multi-enhancement each time which runs about $30, and it's like a collage of several different shots. They look amazing. I usually get one of those along with a few basic prints and maybe a couple single pose enhancements, which are the $14.99 sheets. I usually spend less than $80 each time and get exactly what I want. I also get the on-line link that I can e-mail to relatives so they can see all the pic's that were taken. That helps the 2-3 weeks go by faster while you're waiting for the prints to come in and you're just dying to show them off. :-) Pretty soon we'll be getting family pic's taken and I plan on getting nine different poses in 5x7 to put in a photo frame collage. (I did this exact same thing with maternity pic's.) At $3.99/sheet with a coupon, that'll only cost about $36. Sorry this reply was so long but I hope that helps. ↑
thanks buffi, that sounds like a GREAT deal! im definetely going to be using the jcp this time, your dd's pictures came out amazing from there which is one of the reasons i was thinking of going there but i had no idea that it could be so affordable! i love the ones that have several poses on one sheet too, those are adorable...im sure i'll splurge on one enhanced one at least ↑
