Answer: I dont know heather I am here .. but I agree fefer it is getting quiet but with babies I guess that is expected. Fefer I did go with that guy he will be here august and sept and that is it then his house will be done - he had a drywall walk thru or something the other day and they gave him a date of Sept 17th so he said he would def be out by the end of september then I have to find another tenant but even if i rent it for like a few months here and there I wont mind showing it cause then I dont have to explain whats staying and whats going etc - what they see is what they get and the shorter they are here the less chance I have of someone wanting to paint or crap. Even if I have a gap of a few months It wont be horrible - After this guy for two months that will at least catch me up with the mortgage I am behind in - then if i rent it for more months down the line that will help me pay credit cards and stuff - the BAD thing is if its not rented I have to work full time instead of part time so granted i will realllly try to keep it rented back to back with tenants. I got all my cabinets and closets emptied and my parents took it up to their house today my poor mom has to unload that van full lol then thursday I am bringing the rest of my stuff. Man Violet had me up late last night - I feel like i am going to get my period but i havent gotten it...weird. =

Answer: Hello ladies. Quick stop in while Caden is being a little hellion. Jaxon slept for...wait for this...9 HRS straight! Crazy...he had a feed at 8pm (BM) and slept till 5am. I was up until 11pm waiting to feed him, fell asleep myself and woke up in a frenzied panic at 4am thinking the worst. fefer: Jaxon is VERY gassy to. He is always gassy and cries a quite a bit because of it. I am hoping its a phase as his digestive system matures more. =

Answer: Hey girls. It's so funny, I was just about to come on here and tell everyone how King slept for 5 straight hours last night. I was so excited. Granted it was on my chest but hey, 5 hours is 5 hours. So this weekend is when we are going to get on a routine with him sleeping in the bassinet. I'm dreading it. I know he's gonna be a little stinker and cry and cry about it. It's my own fault. Oh and Heather I wanted to tell you, I know we were talking about the hotslings before, well I got a moby wrap and King love love loves it. I took him to Walmart today and he slept in it for about 2 hours. Then we went to Babies r us and he slept for another hour. It was wonderful, and also really comfortable for me. It doesn't put too much strain on my back. So I started the mini-pill and I am so ready to get back to lovin my man. Haha I think all the months of not being in the mood is starting to catch up with me. I'm gonna jump his bones, haha. Oh yeah and is anyone else who is breastfeeding insanely hungry. I am more hungry now than when I was preggo. After I had King I lost 20 lbs immediately and was at 154, now I am at 164. I thought I was supposed to lose weight bfing. Oh and does anyone have any ideas on how I can increase my milk. It seems to be coming in less and less. I still am making enough to satisfy him, but I wanted to make a little extra so I could pump and store some, any ideas? Dawn, I gotta see Violets pics! Oh and Fred gets vacation time in September so I was thinking we could come up to the Poconos to see you guys in September and then me and Fred will stay a few days at my dads Pocono house, kinda like a mini vacation for us. Ok Little man is awake, be back later! =

Answer: lol my little man is FINALLY sleeping 5 hours sometimes at night. They're supposed to start regulating their sleep better around 6 weeks and with his 'adjusted age' since he was early he would be just around that. It's nice because even though curtis gets up with him when he gets home from work, he still wakes me up. My niece's birthday is tomorrow so I'm off to get her some hannah montana pjs  =

Answer: I bought a sling too-- Ellie loves it, it puts her straight to sleep, which makes it a lot easier to take her out. As long as she's fed she won't wake up when she's in that sling for anything haha. A lot of babies don't like it so the second I stepped out of the store I tried it out incase I needed to return it...haha. It's a bit of stress on my shoulder but at least it gives my arms a break. Oh my doctor offered me the mini pill but I declined. Even though they say it's okay I don't want to take any chances of it effecting my milk. I'm going to get mirena when I'm finished. Has anyone used it? I hear great things. My mom had something similar to it before she had me. Heather- Good luck with college :) I'll be headed that way soon. If I work my butt off I'll be graduated before the year is over. Which is pretty good, considering I failed my freshman year in high school due to severe depression. When I started seeking help my grades got a little better but they were still crap. It wasn't until I got pregnant that I finally got my act together. It seems pretty stupid that it took something that huge to give me a wake up call haha. I got my report card today, the lowest grade on it is a B+ so I'm very pleased with myself. Dawn- Yay! Can't wait to see those pictures!! =

Answer: hey ladies... I dunno if you say my post in the other thread but Kaelyn slept for 6 hours straight last night, man that was a great nights sleep.. I was waiting for her to fall alseep and once she did I went passed out too and we slept for a great 6 hours woke up I fed her and she went right back to sleep! it was great... best sleep I have had since she was born lol. AMANDA, thanks for wishing me luck! Im going to start with this EMT course... its a semester long thing and at the end I can take the test to get certified... then its nursing school and if im feelings really ambitious its pre med then med school but thats way off in the future lol. good luck to you too! Im so proud of you for going to school as a new mommy... a lot of people think us 'youngins' are " throwing our lives away when we have a kid... of course we know that isnt true :) =

Answer: Gabby september sounds great - it wont be so wretched hot either which is nice. I got a infantino carrier for violet her dad got it so i can carry her around with me all day lol i havent used it yet but i am going to tomorow i think. I just gave her a bath and i been putting her in these one pc pjs with the feet and she seems to love them since she cant really be swaddled anymore she moves wayyyy too much. Gabby I read somewhere that after you BF you can pump a little see if you get any out and if not just the pumping might help you make more milk. I been a lil more hungry too lately but more so thirsty like an animal i drank sooo much gatorade the other day.  =

Name: gabby509 | Date: July 17, 2008, 18:31
Answer: I'll try the pumping after he eats. I've been trying to drink lots and lots more water. I was wearing this nursing bra that had an underwire and I think it made my milk leak more because it was kind of constricting. So I went and got a sports bra type nursing bra today and it is like Heaven. So comfy. Oh and King is getting that cradle cap thing where his scalp is super dry and flaky. This poor kid, he gets a nasty ear infection, then he gets cradle cap, adn then I didn't cut his nails short enough so he scratched his face really bad, and he has the baby acne. Oh well he's still super friggin cute, even with all his issues, haha.  =

Answer: did you try the yogurt.. It just seems it worked for me .. might work for you too - O i wear underwire bras all the time i wear the regular bra that just opens in the front its such a pain in the ass sometimes - I need to get a sports bra type one my other friend told me about that also..  =

Answer: Aww Dawn she's so cute! I love her little dress. I was thinking of going to JC Penny's for Ellie's photos, I hear they do a good job and have nice backdrops. But I'm still waiting for her to fit into the dress I bought her haha. She's just barely out of premie sizes now...but not quite into newborn yet. She can only fit into a few onesies. =

Name: Sprinkles | Date: July 18, 2008, 9:07
Answer: Thank you amanda ! That dress she had on we had to sew the straps cause otherwise it came down below her boobies - she is in newborn now mostly but oddly some 0-3 month stuff doesnt fit her either .. im like she has to be at least 9 lbs what in the hell do they expect a 0-3 month old to be? by the time she fits her 0-3 SUMMER clothes it will be fall ... and then her fall clothes wont fit til spring lol ugh! If i go to any baby showers i will not buy anyone clothes - I think its best to wait til baby is here and buy it as you go cause you dont know what will fit until the time is here.. Diapers and Furniture is what they get from me if i go to any showers lol =

Answer: good morning! Dawn she is so beautiful. King looks like a moose compared to her though, haha. I did some reasearch about increasing the bm and it said to feed on both breasts at each feeding and I can alraedy see an improvement. I think it was just decreasing too because I've been going out alot and have skipped feedings and gave him pumped milk. So I just have to make sure to put him on the boob everytime, and not give too many bottles. And plus the two times that I gave him formula, he got constipated for 2 days. Fred left me a card this morning, just an I love you card. Wasn't that sweet? I got a good one! Well I gotta work today so I'll be back later girlies, have a good day! =

Answer: hey everyone - Levi has serious gas issues still. Yesterday was my first "hard" day with him. Nothing really made him happy- not the swing, the bouncy seat, his bed or me. We finally went for a walk and he fell asleep in the stroller. He woke up at 3am to eat last night and i fed him in bed and left him with me till almost 9am - he just ate and slept but around 9 he got a little gassy and fussy so we got up.Gabby -did you say you lost weight and then gained 10 back?/What a bummer! I got down to 155 this morning - only 30 more to go and I'll be at my happy weight. :) They say not to loose to much at a time because you release toxins into your body which gets into breast milk. ugh - Rachel is awake - got to go now. Be back later! =

Name: fefer1 | Date: July 18, 2008, 13:40
Answer: dawn - violet is adorable. :) I need to get some pictures of Levi and Rachel but I'm waiting for his skin to get a little better. It's kind of blotchy from little baby acne. :) I did read that it's due to the hormones that are circulating out of their body from us mommies - and they also have very immature skin so it can be irritated easily. It should go away by 12 weeks. :) Gabby - pump after you BF, it will eventually produce more milk - or breast feed on both sides at a feeding. I need to start doing that too for those special occasions. Kay - and everyone else for that matter- glad your LO's are sleeping better for you. :) It really is nice to have uninterrupted sleep isn't it? :) Oh - Gabby - I read that you shouldn't drink TOO much water breast feeding but now I can't remember why! ugh! How much do you drink?? geez..DDT- That is awesome - 9 hours!! That's pretty incredible. the gassy thing is terrible though. I can't figure out what Levi's issue is. He was so bad yesterday. He's sleeping on his play mat now on his tummy. Weird. :) I just put him there for some tummy time and he passed out. haha..Rachel keeps kissing him - or try ing to lick his leg. She's so crazy. :) Anyways, I thought about cutting out the dairy and wheat again but it's so hard to do! Dairy isn't TOO bad but the wheat - the gluten, is in everything, including soy sauce. But, good thing is, you lose TONS of weight that way. I lost 5 pounds in a couple of days doing that with Rachel. IT was crazy!! It never helped her but maybe it will with Levi? Oh,I bought him a shirt that says "Levi's". :) It's an actual Levi's Jeans product but I thought it was hilarious. :)  =

Answer: Fefer, I was barely drinking any water so I've gone back to about 5 or 6 8oz glasses a day. And I have celiac disease , wheat gluten allery, so I am with you on the difficulty of eating. I'm nervous that King will inherit the disease. My poroblem is that gluten free and wheat free foods are heavier and mostly more fattening. They need to supplement the wheat with other stuff, like fat and other crap. And my milk is better today, I'm wondering if I just had a few bad days.  =

Answer: Hello! I was trying to bf violet on both sides but she seems to not eat as much like she doesnt empty them and i thought that is probably why i am not making more milk - i think i make just like 4 or 5 oz per side... i should probably be making more right? Fefer is that how you pronounce his name like levi's jeans? or is it like levy ?When do you girls start using the bumbo? I want to get violet one ... =

Answer: Well I have a sleeping baby in my lap lol we went to my niece's birthday party today and he was really good. He smiled a lot at people and actually just sat in my lap looking around for once. I also brought his diaper changing mat that I've never used and let him lay on it on top of one of the picnic tables. He actually went to sleep right at the very end and I was so surprised because a lot of times he's a little fuss bucket. I use mylicon for gas so it's worth a try. =

Answer: hey girls - so I have the pw for photobucket but what is the login??? I wanted to put up some pictures.  =

Name: fefer1 | Date: July 18, 2008, 22:47
Answer: dawn - yes, it's levi like the jeans. :) Oh I forgot about the celiac disease gabby. That does suck. I tried the diet for about a month and it was killer. I loooove my carbs. Rice just doesn't cut it - and soy sauce - wow - I can't believe gluten is in that. It's crazy. Dawn - your milk starts to regulate after a while, makes what the baby needs. The best thing to do is keep pumping after feedings if she doesn't eat fully from both sides. It takes a little time but it will work. Mornings are better too - you have more milk then. I pumped a LOT with Rachel...so I have a little experience in that whole thing. Every boob is different though. :) I have got to start doing that myself - I want a freezer full for back up but I'm so lazy - never get around to it. :) The Bumbo - I'm not sure but I think it's around 3 months. A friend of mine last September was using it with her kid and he was 3 months old. I can't wait to try mine out - it looks pretty cool! Rachel likes to sit in it for now. haha..she's still small enough to fit in it and she's nearly 2!!!  =

Answer: Fefer i pump every morning but its not after she eats cause typically i wake up and she is still sleeping and i am super sore so i pump instead thats the only time of day I can pump and store it cause she will sleep and by the time she gets up I have more anyway in there. I think that bumbo thing is cool looking i want to get her one and i think i want to try a diaper genie my mom was going on and on about me taking them OUTSIDE after every changing lol i was like umm yeah OK .. I watched that movie tonight beowulf lol chas was with me i quickly told her to go upstairs lol fresh movie lol  =

Answer: So today was the day that I vowed to start King sleeping in the bassinet, but of course it is 12:30 and the little stinker is wide awake. I am so shocked too because he took maybe 2 half hour catnaps, and then was awake for the rest of teh day. So I think I am seriously doomed for this kid getting on a schedule. I have started a bad pattern alraedy and I don't know how to break it. I'm gonna post a thread and see if teh other ladies with older babies have any advice for me. Fefer, I think I may get the book you were talking about, what is it called again? The book I have doesn't seem to give me advice that is for a young baby, it is mostly for older babies, 6 months and up.  =

Answer: Amanda she is 11yrs old lol so she would have very much so known what was going on i was likeWOAH lol cause it was unrated. Gabby :( Did he fall asleep eventually? I was up til 1 with violet i just held her while i was standing up and walked around a little bit patting her back until she fell asleep then i put her down she slept til 3 then woke again so i did it again and she slept for a little more then she was hungry so i put her in my bed to feed her and she spends the rest of the night with mein my bed then - I am justhappy to get her to sleep in her bassinet for a few hours on her own.  =

Name: DDT | Date: July 19, 2008, 14:01
Answer: I don't have a chance to post properly but have read through the other posts. I am set to go out shopping....Gabby: Try the shush-pat method to help him sleep in his bassinett. The book that explains it and I found REALLY helpful with ds1 is called "The Baby Whisperer (3rd edition)" and the book fefer was talking about is called "Healthy sleep habits, healthy child" which is also helpful. Both are excellent to have and refer to...I still use it when baffled by my toddler sometimes. Anyway I used the Baby Whisperer routine with ds1 and he was sleeping through the night from 11 weeks and never had a bad night since. =

Name: DDT | Date: July 19, 2008, 14:02
Answer: sorry it may be "Healthy sleep habits, happy child" my book is in my room and I don't have a chance to check.  =

Name: gabby509 | Date: July 19, 2008, 19:49
Answer: Thanks DDT, I'm gonna buy both tomorrow. I need him to develop healthy sleep habits and I think now is the time to make that happen. I don't want to wait until he's 6 months or even older to get him on a schedule. He's so much more content and happy during the day when he gets a good nights sleep. Dawn, last night was pretty rough. He didn't go to sleep until 13:30 or so, I put him in his bassinet, then he woke up at 1:30 and wouldn't go back to sleep so I came downstairs and as soon as we came down he feel right back asleep in his bouncy chair. So again I took him upstairs and put him in his bassinet and he slept there until 3:30, then woke up screaming. I fed him and tried to get him back to sleep up there but with no luck, so I came downstairs again and he passed out in his bouncy chair within 20 minutes, but by that time I was exhausted and ended up falling asleep on the couch. We both slept like that until 7:30. It was just a long night for both of us. I'm gonna try it again tonight so wish me luck! Fingers crossed! =

Answer: Good luck gabby - I dont know whats up with violet today she has slept ALL day didnt even wake to eat i had to wake her and here she pooped all out of her diaper down her leg..so i had to give her a quick bath then try and feed her and she ate for maybe 7 mins then fell asleep again and if i try and keep her up she gets crabby - I was trying to keep her up to make her eat but she isnt having it - so she is sleeping now lol she has slept most of the time from 11am thru now which is 9 pm .. when she was awake on her own she was pretty happy though maybe its a growth thing? I am trying to feed her cause that soft spot was a lil sunken in earlier not drastically but a little bit. Im going to go to bed soon and try and feed her in bed she seems to like to nurse better that way.  =

Name: Sprinkles | Date: July 19, 2008, 21:31
Answer: you know what too gabby i think consistency will help you - as long as you are consistent you will be ok. And of course get that book.. I am dropping violet off tomorrow to spend a couple hours with her grandma (dads side) and I am going to go check out a book store and take a look at that book they are talking about - I may get that too I dont have trouble with violet but at least I can know in case I do in the future. I had such a busy day today - I went to the grocery store, cut the grass, pulled weeds, washed the dog (cash) and brushed his teeth cause I read if you brush their teeth it may help extend their life, and then i did laundry, packed violets room, showered and just ate dinner. IT IS SO HOT here too !  =

Name: gabby509 | Date: July 19, 2008, 22:35
Answer: OMG Dawn, King slept the entire day too. I woke up around 7:30 and fed him and after that he was like so exhausted. I also had to wake him to feed him and he barely ate anything because his little eyes kept shutting on him. We went to a birthday party and it was outside so I figured he slept there because it was so hot but now we're home and he just woke up. Of course when I'm tired and ready to go to bed he wakes up for the day or night. And you are right about getting consistent. I am pretty easy going and haven't really stuck to any set schedule since he's been born, so he pretty much does whatever, whenever, and I do the same. Oh and since his ear infection is finally going away I can give him a bath before bedtime again, that helped alot.  =

Name: Sprinkles | Date: July 20, 2008, 10:53
Answer: Gabby how did he even get that ear infection? You know everytime violet has a off day and doesnt eat too much the next day I dont seem to have much milk.. like today I dont feel like sore or anything - especially this morning but maybe its cause i fed her a few times last night rather then just like once. So violets dad went to a 'boobie shower' last night ... he said lol and i quote - ' You know how you girls have a baby shower so my friends are throwing me a boobie shower' where he went to a strip club... i told him yeah you deserve a shower for the whole 10 mins of work you might have put in ... i dont know why but that annoys me haha  =

Name: gabby509 | Date: July 20, 2008, 14:48
Answer: Well when I woke up last Saturday the whole left side of his head and face was bright red, and it felt super hot when I touched it. I figured that he slept on the side and that's what it was from but when I touched his ear he screamed like I have never heard him scream before. And the redness didn't go away. So then like a half hour later I saw this like orangish liquid coming out of his ear. It looked like wax, but it was runny. Sorry for the gross details. But so anyways the doctor said to come in immediately because when they have drainage like that it is ussually because their ear drum burst. So I was thinking the worst, that he was gonna be deaf out of that ear or something. So I rushed him in there and by the time I got there his entire ear was crusted with this waxy shit. When the doctor looked in there she said his eardrum was fine but it looked like he had gotten fluid trapped in his ear canal, either from breastmilk or from his bath. And the fluid caused an infection because it was like trapped in there. So it was basically like swimmers ear. I was pretty scared though because when Iw as little I had tubes in my ears 3 times and when Fred was younger he had lots of tubes and then he had an ear infection so bad when he was 9 that he ended up getting diabetes from it. It was like an autoimmune thing. So the doc told me to be extremely careful when giving him baths and make sure I don't let any breastmilk kinda run his face. But he is the messiest eater, I always have to constantly wash my nursing bras. Oh and Dawn, I have never heard of a boobie shower. It seems like a lame excuse to go get his rocks off at a tittie bar, haha. I'm, glad Fred really doesn't go to those places, they are so skanky. Ok well I gotta go to Shop Rite. Ahh I used to love food shopping iuntil they started charging massive amounts for food, but now I hate it.  =

Name: Sprinkles | Date: July 20, 2008, 20:24
Answer: They all charge disgusting prices for food now a days - Milk is like 4 bucks and so is bread .. pretty much what i pay for a gallon of gas i pay for a gallon of milk . I wondered about how they get ear infections cause i watch the breastmilk and the bath .. she is crabby enough when she isnt sick lol i just wondered if there was another way they got them too. I think ur right about the boobie shower I told him there was no stripper at my baby shower i feel ripped off haha =

Answer: Ahh the batteries in ace's swing died the other night and man I got maybe 3 hours of sleep before work. Gabby liss had several ear infections till she was about 1 and a half then they just stopped. I was the same way when I was younger but kids usually grow out of it. We went to dairy queen today because cold stone was closed :( I'm off to go eat then gotta get liss to bed so night night! =

Answer: Hey girls, quick update. I took Ellie to get her photos done today at Target. She was pretty fussy so they aren't that great... They did what they could though and a few of them turned out pretty nice. When I took her home she eventually calmed down so I decided to take a few pictures of my own, just because she looked so cute in her little dress. Anyway, the pictures will be done on August 1st, then on the 7th she has her two month pediatrician check up. I'm definitely not looking forward to her getting shots! Also, my PP bleeding finally stopped so I'll be getting my pap smear on July 30th. My nether regions are all messed up since the bleeding stopped, I feel uncomfortable like I did right after delivery. I'm not sure if that's normal, I'll have to ask my doctor about it. I'll let you all know how things go :) =

Answer: Good luck amanda I didnt go to my 6 week appointment and i dont plan on seeing a doctor again for anything like that for at least 6 months - I hope to have regular insurance by then and be able to go to a real doctor not a shit hole like that clinic welfare wants me to go to. My box feels fine to me and i dont have anything irregular going on so hopefully its all good down there lol. I seen some of the pics you put up of ellie on your myspace she is a doll .. I can already see them growing ..when people say they grow fast they dont lie lol its hard when you look at them everyday but i see it when i put certain outfits on violet that didnt fit her a week ago and now she is snug in it - with her it seems more length then belly and thats a little annoying cause none of the pants fit her to these outfits they all slide down lol ..ah well she is going to be baptised sept 21st her granddad is getting it done at his church .. I dont belong to a church and i dont really have a set religion so i was glad they could get her in over there and they are also throwing her a party afterwards so all I have to do is get her a dress and me ,my parents and the godmother will all go. Chastidy is christian so when i had her blessed her dad and i were members of a christian church so i have two kids with two different religions lol I believe but I just dont a church and I dont consider myself a set religion i just like to think we are all one in the same. So anyway this should be cute ...I will be nervous but when am I not nervous around too many people. Kay that sounds cute i can picture that lol its cute how you can just be entertained by watching them lol. Well happy monday ladies ~ hope its a nice week .. I have some movin to do (yuck) =

Answer: Where is everyone?! I had to scroll to find this thread :( Ellie's doctor's appointment was moved to August 4th. I'm so nervous, I know it's going to be heartbreaking to see her be poked with all those needles. She's already having some problems sleeping lately. She takes the same amount of naps but they only last about a half hour. She only wakes up once throughout the night though, and is up and wide awake by 5-5:30. I think it's because she's so gassy. I give her drops and they help a little but not much. Poor thing. I have a bunch of questions to ask her doctor, I think I should start to write them down because I'll probably forget. Oh and my sister wants to take her son and Ellie to get some photos done too. We'll see if she sticks to that because photos are pretty expensive and she's already planning on spending a bundle for his first birthday. She's going all out-- bounce house, ball pit, pinata, bubble machine... Haha, I was like gosh these kids are only one year old! Give them something shiny that's safe for them to chew on and maybe plays music and they'll be happy campers :P =

Answer: hey everyone - we were busy with "stuff" this weekend and I had a bunch of visitors. I'm wiped out now - Rachel is a pill and Levi grunts too much. I started bawling my eyes out today I was os frustrated. :) I feel better now. haha..damn hormones! My 6 week checkup up is actually at 7 weeks cuz the stupid office couldn't get me in earlier. It should be THIS Friday but it's NEXt week. August 1st. I pretty much stopped bleeding and can't wait to resume activities that got me preggo in the first place. :) haha...my husband has been keeping an eye on the calendar. I suppose we'd be safe now but for some reason having a doctor check things out makes me feel better about it. Gabby - glad King is doing ok - that would have scared me! Poor thing!Ok - got a screaming toddler again....sigh... =

Answer: Poor fefer :( You sound like you have your hands full. My 6 week check up will actually be at 9 weeks, I went at 4 or 5 weeks but they sent me back because my bleeding hadn't stopped. It actually just stopped a few days ago, it's just the waiting game of when the next appointment will be. Obgyns always seem to be busy busy busy, it takes a month just to see them for 10 minutes. It's alright though, I loved the whole process so much that I'm going to start applying for colleges to become an obgyn nurse. I'm starting an ROP nursing class when Ellie is done breast feeding, in the mean time I still have to work on graduating high school, I'm getting too far ahead of myself :P It's just that with a baby in the picture I'd like to be settled as soon as I can. Stable job, home/apartment and so on, so she can be comfortable and I won't have to be a bum living off of my mom for very much longer. My mom seems kind of sad though, I'm her youngest and all the sudden I have to grow up so fast, neither her or I was expecting it. I think she's just having a hard time letting go of her baby :) I love my mom haha. =

Answer: amanda my mom wsa begging me to live off her the other day lol - I left home when i was 18 and been on my own ever since so its been a while that i have lived with my parents - I went back once briefly when chastidys dad and I broke up until I found an apt .. so the other day she was asking me how long i planned to stay with her and my dad and i said one school year cause i dont want to pull chas out mid year - and she was like o ok .. then where are you going and i said maybe back here (to my house) or maybe out of the state ... i may just make a run for it lol and she starts crying! she was saying she knows i have to live my life but she will be attached if i live with her to the baby and it will break her heart.. she is already SUPER attached to chastidy. I was like aw come ON! she then calmed down and said its ok blah blah blah but i still feel bad now ...shes killing me. No one cared when I wanted to stay in NY they up and moved anyway to bethlehem PA and then up and moved to the poconos and left me here with no one .. now they want me to care before I move.. funny. I do love my mom though so its hard for me to just break out on her like that. We'll see i guess ..  =

Answer: Hey girlies. I hope everyone is doing good. I got your email Fefer and I went and got the book last night. I plan on trying to read some of it today. I've noticed that King has developed a new sleeping habit where he fights sleep. He will sit there and kinda like cry for about 10-15 minutes before he lets himself fall asleep. And I know he needs to sleep because he will have his eyes closed when he's being fussy and there are no tears. And his cry isn't even a real cry he's kinda just like yelling. So I'm gonna take him to get portraits done tomorrow at JCPenneys. I wanted to do it last week but I had to wait until all his little scratchies on his face healed. For some reason when he gets upset and cries he claws his face and if his nails are even a tiny bit sharp or long he enmds up with a scratch. I've been filing them down, and that's been much better. Oh and I am hopeful about this book because I've noticed that at night when he sleeps with me it's for a good 3-5 hours at a time and he does realize that nighttime is sleepy time so hopefully all we have to conquer is the sleeping in the bassinet thing and then all will be good. Oh and my milk is back in full force. I guess my body has to regulate it again because now I'm producing an abundance, especially in the morning. After his morning feeding, I'll pump and still produce about 4-5 ounces from each breast. Then the rest of the day is good. Oh and my mom called me today with a really good deal. Well for my shower she got us a 6 month supply of diapers, like I call her when I need them adn we go and just get them. So this morning she said that if I watch my neice and nephew when she works, which is only one sunday, every 6 weeks, and then on christmas vacation and like when the kids have off school, that she will buy us diapers forever for him. Like until he is potty trained. So I am super excited about that, because diapers as you all know are not cheap. She had me try out all the different diapers and I will tell you it's a shame that pampers are the most expensive becaus ethey are the best ones. Huggies aren't too bad but I hated the Wal-mart brand, the white cloud ones, and the luvs. Ok I think I may be rambling at this point, haha. I gotta go apply for WIC today because hey if they are willing to give me free food then I'm all about it, especially since food is ridiculously priced now.  =

Answer: damn you just reminded me i never rescheduled my wic LOL I have to call them today ! I am a major slacker with the pumping like I was good with it for a while now if she is sleeping i dont bother pumping til i am so full it hurts then i pump and only get like 5 oz from one side and maybe 3 from the other. Violet is LOVING her swing she sleeps in it alll afternoon. How are the dogs taking to king? =

Name: gabby509 | Date: July 22, 2008, 14:16
Answer: The girl dogs are great. They sniff him and then walk away and if he is crying they just sit next to him until I pick him up. Tank pretty much doesn't even realize that he's there. But if he does go near him he nudges him with his head and then walks away. He's so big and dumb. I wanted to go to WIC earlier but I just got through on the phone, friggin pains in the ass. Now it's too late for today, I'll have to go tomorrow. King is sleepy today too. He didn't like his swing a few weeks ago but I think I'm gonna try it again, cause he's bigger now. I weighed him this morning and he is 13 lbs 2 ounces. This kid is gaining like a pound a week. By the time he's 6 months old he'll be 50 lbs.  =

Answer: ok Gabby - I have you beat. :) I weighed Levi today - witha fresh diaper on and he's 14 pounds exactly!!! I about freaked out - he's huge!!! My daughter was 16 pounds at 6 MONTHS. He's only 5 weeks old!!! He's wearing his 3-6 month clothes. haha...anyways, glad you got the book - let us know how it goes. Levi was a terror last night. He woke up at 2 fussing so I fed him - then we wouldn't go to sleep till 4am. He grunted and groaned FOREVER and I finally got so annoyed that I put his bed in the spare room. He still groaned so loud we could hear it and finally started crying which he never does. By the time I got to sleep again it was time for him to eat at 5 -and then he just stayed in bed with me till 8. It was not a pleasant night. sigh...I'm worn out this week between him and Rachel. They can't seem to give me a break.I had 45 minutes to myself today - enough time to start some laundry and take a shower. Some days I wonder what I was thinking having two kids so close in age. :)  =

Answer: Ellie is still small. I weighed her today and she's around 9 pounds. I say around because my scale is a little funny. We'll see how she measures when I take her to her appointment on the fourth. I still feel like she's just as tiny as the day I took her home, if it weren't for the clothes that used to be huge on her, I think I'd be oblivious to her growing at all :) I'm going to go to babiesrus pretty soon, my sister wants her and her cousin to have matching outfits for the photo, and I want to have her hands and feet imprinted in clay before she grows any more! =

Answer: Good morning, if that's what you wanna call it. Wow I had a really bad night. King was awake until 3:30 and super fussy. He never does this. If he stays awake at night and into the morning he is usually calm but just wide awake. But last night was another story. He just cried and thrashed his body around for like 3 hours. I gave him mylicon and walked him around and patted his back and did the bicycle with his legs, changed his diaper, fed him, and NOTHING helped. It's a shame but you really get to your wits end and then you just have to let them cry. I ended up putting him in his bouncy chair and he cried himself to sleep. It broke my heart. He woke up at 6 this morning and there was poop everywhere, all up his back and out the sides of his diaper. So I guess he was just constipated and his belly was hurting. But man, I was getting so frsitrated because all I wanted to do was sleep, I didn't care where he fell asleep as long as he slept. Oh and Fefer, you are too funny. Levi is huge! Haha I look at King and I'm like wow he's a big baby but then when I saw the pics of Levi on the photobucket I was like whoa, look at those chubby cheeks!!! I love chubby babies though, there's more to squeeze, haha. So I have my WIC appt today and I gotta search the house for Freds pay stubs before I go, such a pain in the ass. They need the last 4, and he is so unorganized that I'll be lucky to find one. I have King in a 6 month Carters outfit today and it fits perfectly, haha. I love their clothes, they fit so nicely on him and they wash really well too. Ok well I gotta get dressed and be on my way, be back tonight ladies! =

Answer: what is it with our big boys gabby??? I had a horrid night too. Levi was up at 2:30 grunting so I fed him and then he was up till 4:30 fussing and grunting. I was so tired already from the last few nights of this and my crazy daughter. All I wanted to do was sleep!! I think I fell back asleep around 5am and then he was up at 6:30 and 8:30...the mylecon doesn't seem to help either. I did everything too - burping, pumping his legs and changed his diaper. I don't understand why its the night feed that does this to him. I can comfort him all day long but at 3am nothing works. I ended up just getting out of bed and sitting on the couch for a while - I was so frustrated. My poor husband had to deal with him for a while.  =

Answer: Ever since about my last month of pregnancy I've been getting these bumps on my fingers, it seems like there's fluid trapped under the skin. Sometimes it's itchy but mostly they are just annoying. Anyone else getting them? I'm still waiting for all these annoying pregnancy symptoms to go away!!! When is everything supposed to go back to normal? I thought it was just like, deliver baby and magically everything goes back to normal haha. Answer: Ace loves sleeping in his swing too. He's actually knocked out in there now lol. We went out to the lake on Monday and Curtis grilled haha it was just the two of us but he made chicken, burgers and ribs. We gave some away to the neighbors and STILL have leftovers. Liss played in the water a bit and Curtis and I had a squirt gun fight and we all made a sandcastle. Last night we went back to school shopping and I got lissy some more shorts and shirts from children's place JUST to wear to preschool because most of the stuff she got from old navy is now covered in sand/dirt stains from playing outside. Right now I'm just completely worn out and I keep telling myself to take a nap but won't do it. =

I wasn't sure when the appropriate time to read to a baby was so I just got out a collection of dr. suess books and read them to her in a silly voice so she could enjoy it in the mean time, and maybe learn to read early on. =

Answer: Hi everyone! So I took King to the WIC appt yesterday and htey weighed him and Fefer he is catching up to Levi, haha. He was 13.3 lbs and he was 22 and a half inches, so he gained weight and got longer. So I have decided to try the swaddling again. I'm at my wits end. So far so good, I put him down in his bassinet for a nap about 10 minutes ago, all swaddled up and he is still sleeping so I'm gonna keep my fingers crossed. HAHA, spoke too soon, he's awake! Be back in a bit! =

Answer: go king!! :) haha - our big old boys! Watch, they'll grow up and be short little skinny guys. :) Rachel was a chunker herself and now she's only 26 pounds at almost 2 years. The other day I saw a 10 month old baby that was 24 pound - he was as big as her!! haha..She's a tiny thing though. I'm hoping Levi will be tall - be a basketball star and get rich and support us in our old age. :) I can dream can't I??? I'm not sure how long Levi is - he was 22 at his 2 week appointment and I'm sure he's grown - lots of the pants/sleepers he once wore are packed away now. good luck with the sleeping and swaddling stuff - Levi will flail around if I don't get him tight - at least the arms - and he'll wake himself up. Hey, anyone have a stuffy baby? Levi seems really congested recently. It started out slowly and seems to be worse and now he has big old boogies in his nose. I don't think he's sick but maybe he is. None of us are...hmmm... =

Answer: Fefer- Ellie has been congested for a while now too. From what I know there's not much I can do about it, so I just clean out her nose regularly and wait for it to wear off. It's been about a week and hasn't gotten any better though. Gabby- do you have anything that plays the sound of a heartbeat? I have a bouncer that does and at first she didn't seem to like it, but I waited a couple weeks and tried it again. It seems to help her sleep. Worth a shot? =

Name: Sprinkles | Date: July 24, 2008, 17:56
Answer: Gabby violet LOVES her swing ..she sleeps for hours in it - last night was our first night here and although i have all her stuff i thought maybe the change of scenery would mess up her sleep but nope and i had to make her sleep the whole night in her bassinet cause here i only have a daybed so i cant feed her then let her stay with me its not safe. So when she woke up last night to eat i fed her and put her back in the bassinet and she went back to sleep and she did it again at 6am same deal.,. so i was happy about that - I am going to buy that angelcare monitor and see if i can get her to sleep in her crib - that movement monitor would make me not worry so much.  =

Answer: Oh and the swaddling worked for violet but not anymore she moves WAY too much plus my mom doesnt have a/c down stairs so i dont want her to overheat .. does anyone elses baby move constantly ,..like i remember chas would move and flail her arms but not constantly violet is constantly moving and making these whiney noises and grunting and sighing ..its like stay still kid! Maybe gas? I got her those drops today too .. gabby i lost track of my thought before ..after i said violet loves her swing i was going to ask if you had tried that with king? =

Name: kay101 | Date: July 24, 2008, 21:22
Answer: You guys are lucky.....we had a few good nights but he seems to not like sleeping anymore. He's up at least every 3 hours and granted he goes back to sleep but it's still pretty rough. Even when curtis takes him his crying still wakes me up. I loaded some bath and smiling pictures of him to my myspace and also added an album of older pictures of me, liss, and curtis. I had an obnoxiously long day so I'm off to rest. Night ladies. =

Name: Sprinkles | Date: July 24, 2008, 22:20
Answer: I wondered about something - Violet loves her swing and so during the day she naps in there for like 3 or 4 hrs straight - tonight she fell asleep in there after crying for like 2 hours - she was fed, burped, changed so I think she was overtired we put her in the swing and she is knocked out .. should I move her to her bassinet or you thinkits ok to let her sleep there tonight?  =

Name: fefer1 | Date: July 24, 2008, 23:49
Answer: dawn- my only concern about the swing would be that she - or he - would get used to it and not want to sleep anywhere else. Levi will sleep there in the afternoon but I try to put him back to bed if I can. But, if he's happy and I HAVE to get stuff done and dont' want to chance it, I won't move him.Kay - I'm sorry you're having a rough time. Levi was good for 5 weeks and then started his grunting thing and is now waking up at 2:30 instead of almost 4am. He slept almost all afternoon though - I had to wake him up twice to feed him since he wasn't doing it on his own. I didn't want to chance being up all night feeding. He seems to be pretty happy after eating too so I think whatever I'm doing (gas drops, burping MORE, feeding longer on one side) seems to be working. OR, something I'm NOT eating anymore is helping. Who knows. I"m tired though. I'm the same way too - Tim will get up to take care of him, or offer to, but I still hear him cry and grunt so I might as well do it and be the only one up all night. Poor Levi - all pooped out. :) He actually pooped a ton today too, maybe that helped. His bowels have loosened up! :)  =

Answer: fefer it didnt happen as soon as i got off here she woke up lol and cried for 3 hours she just could not go to sleep i held her fed her changed her everything i could think of - but she had gas i think i could hear noises coming from her belly...i thought its either gas or she is still hungry but i was out of milk .. i hope i am producing enough to satisfy her..i am going to try and keep and eye and see. she has this habit of acting like she is drinking when she isnt - and falling asleep at the boob ...my one side got so engorged yesterday its still sore today and when i pumped not much came out - but i did give it to her first before i pumped so maybe that is why. ahh i dont know anymore. =

Name: amanda17 | Date: July 25, 2008, 11:27
Answer: Ellie's gas is driving me crazy! Or at least I think it's gas. She gets so fussy when she eats, then after she eats she usually falls asleep, but wakes up almost immediately crying her head off. Crying and farting, crying and farting. Then she second she stops, she falls straight to sleep again but only stays that way for 20 minutes to an hour. Then when she wakes up on top of the crying and farting, she wants to eat again. I'm not sure if she's really hungry or she's just trying to comfort herself with food. The whole process just repeats itself in an infinite, sleepless fiasco. I have an appointment to see a nurse about it soon but... I don't know how much longer I can go with 20 minutes tops of sleep at a time.  =

Name: Sprinkles | Date: July 25, 2008, 13:26
Answer: I hear you - sometimes violet does that too but she will like just drink a lil then fall asleep then wake up like 20 mins later so i think she isnt getting the part of the milk with the higher fat in it to keep her asleep ..I tried waking her and trying to make her finish but that doesnt work cause then she starts flailing her arms around and sucking for like 15 seconds then stopping then starting then stopping so I am trying to pump like 2 times a day and give her a bottle so this way she is still familiar with the bottle and hopefully she is getting more of the good stuff with the higher fat in it - seems she sleeps better after a bottle ..and for longer periods of time. Maybe try that ... i know you are bf'ing on demand i think that is what you said but maybe pump in the mornings when you have extra ( I know i have extra in the morning) and offer that for her morning feeding? Might help?  =

Name: fefer1 | Date: July 25, 2008, 14:40
Answer: amanda/dawn- I've been having issues with Levi doing some of the same things. He will eat, fall asleep, wake up screaming and fussing and farting and stuff. I've researched/asked questions and what I've come up with is the following. You might want to wake them up again if they haven't eaten much, burp them really well and then feed again. Make sure they get teh HIND milk because the foremilk has a lot of lactose that causes gas and reflux like symptoms. I wish I had really paid attention to this with my dd, maybe her reflux wouldn't have been as bad. :( Levi will be hungry again if I don't burp him really well and let him eat again - it seems to be working out much better. I think that at night when I feed him he doesn't eat as long since he's sleepy - and it MIGHT be the cause of our late night farting/burping/grunting and groaning episodes. I'm curious to see what the nurse has to say Amanda. I'm not a big fan of BF-ing on demand - I think some sort of schedule needs to be in place but that's ME. :)Generally though, Levi eats at about the same times and sleeps at the same times so it seems to be working. With Rachel I would feed her whenever she cried thinking that's what she needed -come to find out, it had more to do with needing to burp and having gas. I think I made the problem worse by over feeding her. sigh...who ever said feeding babies was easy!!! :) Now this is all MY opinion and ideas so if something else works, by all means go for it. I'm no doctor, I only know my own baby. :)Good luck! I'll be leaving in a few hours for the weekend - no access to my laptop so have a good weekend if I don't get on here again today.  =
