Hi, I'm 23 and have been trying to get pregnant for about 2 years now. Since I first started my period (i was about 13 years old) They have been irregular until I was about 15 years old and I completely stopped having periods. I went to numerous doctors and was told it was normal. I was tested (blood test) for polycystic overy syndrome a couple times and was told I did not have this. Back in Sept of 04 I went to the doctor for help with getting pregant, I was then refered to a gyno who was sure I had polycystic even before he done any test. He then preformed a transvaginal ultrasound wich confirmed it. He also found I had endometrial Hyperplasia and cyst in my uterus. I had a D&C (which I also found out i had a unicornuate uterus (half a uterus)) and was then sceduled for a diagnostic Laparoscopy. I had to get blood test done first and the results came back positive for pregnancy though the level was low. I had blood test done once a week for the next few weeks, the levels went up but not like they should have. The dr said it was not growing right or it was growing in one of my tubes. This was very hard to hear. We went ahead with the laparoscopy (the preganacy ended up terminating its self) and found it was not in my tube. Its been a week since that was done and right now I have to take medication for 5 days to have my period. On the 5th day of my period I am to start Clomid. The instruction paper I was given says to take a teaspoon of Robitussin twice a day on the 4th thru 7th day after the last clomid and to have intercourse on the 5th and 7th day. The reason for this long story (sorry about the length) is I was wondering if anyone might have any of the same diagnosis as me and if so are you or were pregnant, if so is/was there any complications, and if any one might know the reason for taking Robitussin?

Melissa, It is recommended that you take robitussin because Clomid can make your cervical mucus hostile and it can make it difficult for sperm to travel. I have a question for anyone, I started the Clomid two days ago for the first time. I am experiencing some side effects. I know that a headache is common, but I also have aches running down my neck. It actually hurts to turn my head. It feels like I slept the wrong way but I know that it is from the Clomid. Has anyone experienced this?

hi, i am on clomid for the last 2 months, still no luck.
I am feared that I will get pregnant or not. If somebody has faced the same problem, let me know more about it.

I am 28 and 6 weeks pregnant thanks to clomid. I too have been having the stabbing pains in my abdomen, usually when I get up or cough. I have had a terrible cold over the last week.
My question is this, my HCG levels the first test did not double, not even close. I was told that it might be a chemical pg or an ectopic. The next 3 times my levels were checked, they more then doubled. My doctor is thinking positive now. I go in tomorrow for my first u/s. Has anyone else had this experience with their HCG levels? Any thoughts?
My prayers are with all of you. good luck

After trying for 10 months my doctor put me on clomid yesterday to regulate my period. I searched so websites because I wasn't exactly sure what this drug was for and I'm not sure if I am reading this right. Is clomid a fertility drug?

Name: Melissa | Date: Feb 3rd, 2005 7:38 PM
Alicia- Yes Clomid is a fertility drug.

Melissa, thank you so much for answering me. All of the stories on here really help me see that there is a light at the end of the tunnel. Its been hard the past couple of months because I found out my sis-in-law is pregnant and her and her husband only tried once. She literally got of the pill and 3 weeks later was pregnant. Believe me I am happy for her but its been hard. Anyone else ever feel this way? I'm quite embarassed by it.

Name: Heather | Date: Feb 4th, 2005 5:22 PM
Alicia- my sister in law is pregnant as well. My husbands best friends wife is pregnant and it only took one time. Don't feel embarrassed- after I found out that my sister in law was pregnant, I cried for three days. I am so happy for her but it was still hard. Whenever I am with her, it is difficult as well. Over the past few months though, it has gotten a little easier. You are not alone- hope that helps.

Thank You Heather! I thought I was just being selfish but now I know its a natural feeling when you are trying to get pregnant.

Adriana- Estradiol and Procieve are used to help in conjunction with clomid. I, too was on the 3 drugs. I believe estradiol is another type of fertility drug. It deals with estrogen and progesterone. The procieve is used to prepare for sperm implantation. Miscarriages can be commom with clomid and the procieve is used to prevent this. I was on clomid/estradiol/procieve for 2 months. I was on just clomid for 4 months prior. Actually ran out of refills and went to the doctor for an exam. He said skip that month and start the meds again the next month. Well I had what they call a bounce back month and I actually can pregnant the month that I did not take the meds. I am now 11 weeks pregnant. Had my first dr appt last week and heard the heart beat. Good Luck to all. Let me know if you have any more questions.

Today I have just found out that we are pregnant. We have been trying for three years but just started Clomid in Decemeber. Today on Valentine's Day my husband suggested that I give up on the athome tests and contact my doctor. This evening five hours later our test is postive. Now I will have to call my dr tomorrow and make an appointment for a check up.

On February 2004, I had a laporoscopy surgery to remove a small cyst in my ovary and dr mentioned I also had endometriosis and it was going to be tough to be pregnant because endometriosis causes infertility. After the surgery, my husband and I tried for 8 months and could not get pregnant. Sometimes I would not get my period for 2 months, and Doctor advised to take Clomid and prescribed the drug to me. My husband and I did not feel comfortable with all the side effects and multiple pregancy, so we decided to try again for 6 more months on our own. I started taking my morning (basal)temperature everyday to know exactly when I ovulate and I also bought the ovulation kit that tells you when you are most likely to ovulate. After trying for 3 months, I got pregnant. I am now 6 weeks pregnant, and seeing the doctor to get an ultrasound in 2 weeks. I still have the Clomid in my medicine cabinet and in a way, I am glad we did it on our own. I wish everyone all my best because I was so happy when I found out I was pregnant.

For all of you out there on Clomid, I can tell you it works! I took it along with Metformin for 1 year which resulted in my beautiful girl, Isabel. We went back on the meds. in May of 04 and got pregnant in Oct. of 04. Unfortunately, I miscarried at Thanksgiving. But, first cycle back on the clomid and metformin and I am now 7 weeks pregnant. I do have to say that the last two pregnancies were also concieved by taking Robitussin starting about 1 week before ovulation. I read that that Clomid can do weird things to your cervical mucous and taking something to thin your mucous can help with the fertility. I also swear by the Alternative Therapy "REIKI"! Good luck to all of you

I have just miscarried at five weeks after two years on clomid. I had the same symptoms and it turned out I had three fibroids. Go and see your Dr before anything goes wrong. Good luck

I am currently taking clomid and this is my second cycle. I was doing a bit of research and came across something called "Ovulex," which appears to be a natural remedy that aids in conception. The site is www.ovulex.com. Does anyone have further info about Ovulex? It sounds effective, but I'm a bit skeptical that it'll work because it's all natural herbs.

Hello Joo Ai. Your story sounds very much like an e-book I purchased about two weeks ago. Although I can't remember the exact author at this time, I believe the book is called "Miracle." It talks about natural remedies to achieve pregnancy for healthy women. The book is very short and it is based on a great amount of research conducted by the author, who, after 10 years of trying to conceive, got pregnant twice and had two beautiful babies. If you would like more info, e-mail me at ddiaz@sam-inc.org and I'll be happy to chat with you.

Hi, I'm 21 yrs. old. We have been trying for almost 1 1/2yrs now to get pregnant. I don't understand our 3yr old son was conceived naturally in less than 4 months. So, now my doctor has given me 50 clomid I just did my first round and my period is due on the March 2. Hope to have good news because my son really wants to be a big brother. Any advice from someone with a similiar story to give me some hope?

I also came across that site for ovulex. I myself am not sure because it is all natural. I think it is worth trying it can't hurt you because it is all natural. Sorry I don't have more info for you other then give it a chance you might get lucky.

I've been on Clomid for all 3 of my pregnancies. The first was a healthy, single girl. The second, I unfortunately miscarried at 5 1/2 weeks. I just found out we are having twins and am 9 weeks along. I too have occasional dull cramping, but I'm told this normal and most likely the the uterus stretching. Good luck.
