just found out im pregnant and iv been drinking alot in weeks 2 & 3 cause i had 2 weddings and a party.i did not know i was pregnant.i googled it and now im terrified my baby will be born with facial or limb defects.anyone any advice for me? ↓
Try to relax. If you had a few nights of drunkeness your baby will not be deformed. Fetal Alcohol Syndrome is from prolonged exposure to alcohol. Talk to your doctor about this, I am sure they will reassure you as well. Do you have any idea how many babies are conceived while couple are stupid-drunk? Lots, so calm down your baby will be fine. ↑
Week 2 is preconception and week 3 is most likely around the time of implantation, so with any luck you're baby would have only been passively exposed, with no direct link to your blood...or it's blood alcohol.
Hi Aoifedoll ~ I had 2 big drinking nights before I knew my first baby had been conceived and she had zero problems. And also, I know many, many people who have had the same concerns after finding out they are expecting. Like clindholm said, fetal alcohol syndrome is generally linked to prolonged exposure, certainly not a few drinks at the start of the pregnancy before we knew anything. If that were the case, the streets would be crawling with fetal alcohol syndrome cases. Relax and enjoy your pregnancy! :-) ↑
