Did anyone who is between 5&6 weeks spot for a day and then it stopped? Did anything cause it such as throwing up from "morning sickness".

Actually, I spotted when I was 6w4d. I called the doc freaking out, but they told me not to worry, and come in for an u/s (I already had one scheduled that day). Everything was fine. I haven't had any spotting since then (I'm 11w4d). They told me that sometimes women who are on progesterone supplements will have some spotting. Are you taking progersterone?

no, Iam not on progesterone, but Iam on Metformin, methyldopa for blood Pressure, and the heparin shots. I see my OB next week, I will mention it to him.

Well, I know that my BFF had problems with spotting during her first pregnancy, and has a healthy 3 year old dd, so hopefully everything will be fine!

I am almost 11 weeks and I did have minor brief spotting a couple days ago. I was very concerned since I did not spot with my first pregnancy (although almosty everyone I know spots). My OB did an ultrasound and everything is fine, fast heartbeat and wiggling all over the place. I really would not worry unless you have heavy bleeding and painful cramping.

I am 5 weeks and the other day I had some light pink spotting from sex and it went away...I defently see how throwing up could make you spot though since in the firsttrimester your uterous is swollen and filled with cappillareis that you could have strained and broke one causing just a smal amount of spotting. I take started taking the progestrine cause it helps sustain pg and I had 2 m/c last year - i have been told this is a wonder drug and people swear by it!!!! I hope they are right. have you spotted anymore since then?

Thanks for the responses everyone :) I am still spotting the "brown stuff" it comes and goes. I have not had any cramping and I am still throwing up a lot. I like breezieb's idea that could be it.
I have been told I have a certain type of cervix that bleeds easy when you toch it ( I forgot the name of that condition) it makes paps a bit hard to do :)
So iam wondering if that is why I am spotting so much. I see my O/B this Thur and I will definitely tell him.

With my first pregnancy, I had spotting around 9/10 weeks, and then again a few times later, around 6 months or so. Both times they did an ultrasound and everything was fine. I have a very healthy 21 month old now. I'm currently 8 weeks pregnant, and yesterday I had some pale pinkish discharge (I'd hardly call it "spotting"). I'm staying home today with my feet up, per doctor's orders. I too have an easily irritated cervix, which means that sometimes even sex can cause spotting -- and it's usually a day later, btw. GL with your pregnancy.

your cervix is super sensitive during pregnancy, especially early in pregnancy.... throwing up, coughing, sex or even a bowel movement could cause you to spot... I started spotting all the time when I was preggo w/ my daughter when I would take a #2 (sorry tmi), it just happens.. as long as it is light spotting and not heavy period bleeing you are fine... the brown discharge is a good sign, it means it is old blood not fresh blood. And woman in early pregnany will sometimes spot a bit when it would be time for there period..
