im in the same situation, except im 40 weeks today and im still waiting, I was convinced i was going to come early too! I had a hot curry yesterday it didnt work, and i've eaten pineapples all day today. I've also just been bouncing on my bouncing ball, thats what my friend did and she went into labour not long after. So i'll let you know tommorrow morning unless its worked then i'll let you know in a few days! ↑

I'm 39 weeks and i tried the primrose oil. This is used supposedly to soften your cervix and open it up. I've been taking it for a couple of days and I'm going to the Dr. today to see if I have made any change. It can be taken orally and inserted directly "in there". The first day I put it "in there" my mucus plus fell out within a couple of hours! So I'm sure It worked to some extent! I've only been taking them orally now because once the mucus plus falls out you are more prone to infection if you put anything in there. Try it and let me know if it works for you! ↑

I came back from the doc and I am dialated one cm more than last time. Also my cervix last week was very hard and now i'm 60% effaced! So i'm convinced now that the primrose oil worked! I hope it works for you! ↑

I agree with Mely12. I've been using the primrose oil for 2 weeks and I'm dilated 2 cm, and 25% effaced (at 38 weeks). Primrose oil does work! With my first child, I never dilated at all... even on the day that I got induced, which was a week over my due date, I was still not dilated. So, I'm convinced that the primrose oil works too. Good luck! ↑

newmommi08 it is actually called 'Evening Primrose Oil' & you can generally buy it at any health food store, pharmacy or other places where vitamins are sold. It is usually sold in capsual form, as it is generally taken orally for other female problem like pms, menopause etc. If you are up to having sex, semen does the same thing as it too contains large amounts of prostaglandins which help soften the cervix. ↑

My son was born at 37w3d and I started using Evening Primrose Oil at 35 weeks, 2 capsules a day vaginally. I think each capsule is 500 mg but I'm not sure. I also walked 1-2 miles a day... I called those my induction walks. And me and DH had sex twice a day, he was a happy camper. I had an OB appointment when I was exactly 37 weeks and my doctor told me I was 3cm and 40% effaced. 3 days later my son was born. I got to the hospital at 4cm 80% effaced with not too much pain (I wasn't even sure I was in labor) and delivered 6 hours later, he was my first. So I think the evening primrose oil did the job and made my labor shorter, but that's just my theory. Good luck ladies! ↑

Okay thank you...
There aren't no crazy side effects or anything like that to hurt my baby right? I just over think things because this is all my first time going through it.
Thanks everyone. ↑
