Really Concerned, Can Someone Please Help Me?

I'm an HR professional. I'm usually the first person to know because the women come to me after they pee on the stick and see two lines. LOL! But seriously, why are you waiting for your boss to tell HR. It's really not his place to do so as he should not be discussing your health with anyone. You don't need him to sign anything and I've never heard of a manager being asked to do that. So I have a few questions for you. How long have you been employed there? How big is the company? Why would you assume he'd want to get rid of you just because you're pregnant? Are you sure it's not just a coincidence that he's acting a little different. You don't need a trick up your sleeve. Just your HR person. Go tell yourself and let him/her know of your concerns. If they know their job, you'll be just fine. You'll need to get information from the HR person anyway regarding leave, so go get that information now. By the way, who made up the rule in your company about managers telling HR and when? That should not be their place. |
