I know that I should ask my own doctor directly but the next visit is 3 weeks away, so I decided to post here. Any inputs are appreciated.

My work allows me to be off before/after the birth of a baby for 13 weeks as long as there is a medical certification (doctor's note) on short-term disability.

If I have a normal pregnancy and childbirth, could a doctor deny writing a note stating that I am "unable to return to work for 13 weeks"?

I believe for baby's health (and mother's), spending as much time as possible together after the birth (as long as it is financially possible) would do good....

Thank you.

My doctor's office put in a vague date hoping I could get paid for 8 weeks, but insurance company only paid 6wks for a standard normal vaginal delivery.
