Is it safe to travel for work during the last month of pregnancy? If not, can my employer change my job duties?

I have read that in the last month of pregnancy you should not travel by air. Something about the atmospheric pressure. Maybe E will look at this thread... we could use a brainiac here!

Thanks ErinJoy:) Here is a link about air/cabin pressure - www.hon.ch/News/HSN/510965.html --- About the job, if your doctor provides a medical statement to your employer about your inability to fly due to medical reasons, your employer cannot fire you and therefore, must find other suitable tasks for you during the dates specified on the letter. Of course, all jobs are different and if you are a flight attendent and your main job is flying, you would need to take a medical leave of absence. Check with your employer about this but I am almost certain that they have to accomodate you. Or else... Sick the lawyer dogs on him!!

My work-provided insurance will not allow me to travel outside the immediate local area after 36 weeks (I was not aware of this condition with my last pregnancy). My boss is being more cautious and has denied travel to a conference that would have been at 32 weeks. I think this is wise (even though the conference would have been fun), so now there won't be a need to cancel travel arrangements. Plus, I'm imagining myself in two months, trying to lug myself and luggage through airports!
