In Wisconsin it depends on your employer. I got short-term disability at my job, it covered part of my maternity leave. She should talk to her boss and find out. If she isn't working, I don't think there's anything you can do... but I'm not in NY. If she's not planning on returning to her job, for goodness sakes, don't tell them! lol. I think you have to actually return for a few days, might depend on the job though... and I'm not sure if they could make you pay back some of your maternity leave pay or what. That being said, a lot of women do that. I hope you can make it work. ~spam
