Any teachers going back to work this week after maternity leave? Just wondering how you are coping. I have a five month old and will be going back to work tomorrow.

I am having a hard time, too. I am leaving my 3/12 month old with my mother-in-law, good set-up, right? yes, except I wish it could be me. To help me cope I am depending on advice from friends and realize that the first week will be hard, but it will get better. Many moms have to return to work and they have survived. If they can do it, we can do it. Our babies will be fine.

I am also a teacher & went back to work when my ds was 9 weeks old. It was VERY hard, but each day got a little better. However, after just having the summer off with him, I did NOT want to go back to teaching at all!! (he'll be 1 in a week). Not that he wasn't fun when he was 9 weeks old, but it's not the same. I had such a wonderful summer with him, but unfortunately, I have to work. I look for online teaching jobs everyday now....good luck to you!!

Did any of you continue to breast feed? There's a possibliyt that that my DS will be born early enogh that I may have to return to work for a week or so before summer break. I will breast feed exclusiovely, and am wondering how to juggle pumping and teaching. It's not like I can closemy office door when the need arises and spend 20 minutes pumping. I've got to work around my classes' schedules. Any tips?
