That is such a common question mum ask on the postnatal ward i work on. The fisrt thing you produce is called colostrium. yes it will satify your newborn. It is very rich in nutrients and has all the goodness your baby needs. If milk was the first thing your baby needed you would produce enough. your milk should come through in about 3 days after birth. If you feel your baby is having good feeds and is settled striaght after it shows that your baby has been stifyed. If babys weight has dropped more then 10% of its birth weight you should top up. |
