I really want to breastfeed but am not sure if I will be able to. I have had a lot of trouble with depression since I have been pregnant and would like to get on an anti-depressant after my baby is born. Can I still breast feed if I am on an anti-depressant?

Talk to your doctor/midwife and try to talk to a lactation consultant if there is one available at the hospital where you deliver. I'm pretty sure there are certain anti-depressants that are safe for breastfeeding. Don't give up, try to find the support you need. Breast feeding is worth it. I nursed my daughter and am pregnant with my second child and am looking forward to nursing this baby too!
