My dd is sleeping through the night (whoo hoo!!!)...she's slept 9 hours straight the last two nights! So, I used to wake up wet, mostly on my left side which is the big producer, but the last few nights I haven't and she's slept longer, does this mean I'm going to make less? I assume all that is happening is my dd is eating more during the day at each feeding, but I don't want to lose any milk especially since I'm going back to work in 3 weeks and she'll probably only nurse 3 or 4 times per day and the rest will be bottles of ebm. I was even thinking of getting up to pump around 5 am because I'm still pretty engorged, but then again, I love my sleep!! But the days I do work I will be getting up at 5am...Just don't know. What did anyone else do when their LO's started sleeping over 8 hours???

BTW, my dd is 8 weeks...usually eats at 9:45, bed at 10, sleeping til 6:45 or 7 am...

I personally wouldn't wake her to eat or get up and pump. Your body will regulate based on what she needs so when you are away at work just pump when she would normally feed - then you have your bottles ready for the next day of being away from her. Once you start back to work you may want to wake her to eat so you won't feel engorged starting the day. I always feed right before going to work and then immediately pump. I can usually still get 4 ounces after her first morning feeding pumped out.

Yeah, I've had the morning routine of once she eats and is finished I immediately pump because I'm usually so full. I usually get 3-5 ounces from my left breast alone!! and about 1-2 from my right. I seem to make less and less as the day goes on. Ok, well that helps me..I'm gonna keep on sleeping!!

DB, I have the same problem. I'm so engorged by the time my 6 wk old dd wakes that I'm awake an hour before her cause it hurts to sleep on my side even. My pump broke down on me, so now I've got another one on the way, but it's stillnot here. In the morning my dd nurses for 5-10 mins max (not near enough to empty me, I still full way full after) and then she goes back to sleep! I worry she's not getting the hind milk, sometimes I still feel full until noon! I too love this sleep!!!!!!!!!! My first daughter didn't sleep through the night until she was a year old.
