Just curious, I am pregnant now, and am planning to breastfeed. I would however, like to get pregnant soon after having this baby ( not too soon), like six months or so after. It took me eight months after coming off the pill to get pregnant this time, I won't be going back on the pill. I would just be glad to know if anyone was in this situation or tried this early, could you let me know? thank you

Hi Iam actaully trying to get preg now. My son is 9 mnths. I was hopeing to get preg at 6mnths but didnt happen. My period came back at about 3mnths and was regualr for 3 mnths then it jusmped to 49 days. So I missed my ovulation. Iam pretty sure Iam preg now just waiting a bit longer to test.
So it all depends on how soon your period comes back after birth and if they are regualr. If they are and you know when you are ovulating then it shouldnt be any prob.

Hemi, Some people say you don't get your period after if you are nursing?? i guess I am asking if you do - I am new at all of this, sorry if it sounds stupid. Thanks, and hey hope you are pregnant

Everyone is different, some people may not get their period, when others like me get it within a few months. It all depends on your body .I trianed my son to sleep thru the night from about 2 mnths so I wasnt feeding thru the night and I only fed every 3 hrs not on demand so I think it also depends on how much you are feeding. Because some peoples periods will come back when they cut down on the amount of feedings . So again it all depends. Iam still breast feeding and i have my period so . I think you will just have to see how it goes. I know how you feel thou because that was my plan also. But also if your period doesnt come then your body is obviously telling you that it needs more time. Because breastfeeding takes alot from your body so it has to be ready and strong in order ot breastfeed and be preg. Iam hopeing if Iam pregnant to continue to breast feed til at least 1 yr old.

That is actually something to consider. The length of time you want to feed. Because some babies when the mom is preg will self wean themselves because the taste of milk can change. So if you defiantly want to feed for lets say a yr then it might be better to wait a little longer to get preg

Suppose to be difficult, but not for all. I had my period after a few months and was still breastfeeding when I got pregnant. She was 8 months when I concieved. Now I'm 27 weeks and shes almost 14 months, she self weaned a week after 12 months, I was 20 weeks and supposedly that when your milk changes more to colostrum and she didn't like it. That was when her feedings became more spaced and she was eating more solids. Good luck!
