does any one know exactly why the burning/stinging occurs?

I'm not sure abt stinging/burning but when my milk lets down I have this feeling of heavines/cramping from my chest wall. kinda like a muscle tensing up. I read that it is caused by release of oxytocin when you achieve let down. Some women will feel it very strongly while others barely feel it at all.

it is a different sensation for everyone. Right after the birth of my son i could feel the letdown by cramps in my uterus. Now it's either a tingling sensation or kind of like someone pulling gently on my nipples

mine felt like that, the stinging when i needed to pump, but thats over now for some reason. also, its good to know im not the only one with chest pains. i was freaking out one night when it happened, but when i pumped, the heaviness left along with the pain. i sometimes still feel like my pubic bone is sore or that im getting my period when i get done bf her.

I've tried to describe it like what it might feel like if you were turning to stone
