Ask your doctor which is safer for bf. As for which is more effective w/ pain control, it is different for each person. Also, be aware that narcotics can constipate you, which isn't so hot after abdominal surgery. |

I took T3's when I was breastfeeding and they were fine. I didn't take them often though. only when needed. |

Actually, I took Percocet for several weeks after my c-section and it was fine. Not that much gets through. A good hospital will send you home with a bottle of stool softeners to combat the constipation caused by narcotic pain meds. If they don't, you can get them at any pharmacy, just make sure that you don't confuse stool softeners with laxitives, as you would seriously regret that after surgury. I found the recovery from c-section difficult and my doc and pediatrition assured me that it was better to take the meds as much as I needed than to forgo them and try to cope without. It's not good for let down, and it's not good for post-partum depression, if you get that. So go ahead and take what works for you and don't worry about it. It will be fine! Good luck! |

Percocet is safe while breastfeeding. It's what I was on...I was stiff and sore, but I think it was more cause I had an emergency section after labor, and then a week of hypertension/pre-eclampsia. |

Frances, that makes me feel a whole lot better with the meds. Thanks! |
