My ds is 8 months,he is on formula during the day, and also pumped bm. I am having trouble pumping during the day, so I have switched to formula only during the day. My question is how do I go about weaning him from bm complety? I figure since I am no longer pumping that my supply is going to dramatically decrease. I would like to start only formula soon. He seems to really like it and at night he will bf and then take a bottle too before bed, like he is not getting enough. Any advice?

Humm, I don't really know how hard it is to completly wean...but I *think* I read on another thread that you posted that you bf your ds to sleep at night and have to get up with him a few times during the night for comfort/feeding. I think that will be the biggest problem that you are going to have. Does your ds take a bottle from you or do you have to have someone else give it to him? My son WILL NOT take a bottle from me to save his life.

Just wanted to let you know that you don't HAVE to wean. I plan to day wean when my son turns one. Basically, no more pumping. Yipeee! I will only nurse him when we are together. Your supply will adjust to that one or two feeding. I also comfort nurse at night, and I know what a wonderful tool it is. So I wanted you to know that you have options.

Thank you both. I didn't mean to sound cruel with my second post. I appreciate your help.
