I weaned my now 3 year old son from BFing at 10 months because I had to go back to work ... & he HATED the bottle too, my Dr. advised to try a sippy cup instead of a bottle - that way I don't end up having to wean him again from a bottle in a few months, & he actually took it! I was totally surprised (I had put my own milk in it), & he took it all throughout the day though he still wanted to nurse right before bed, & I figured he had to go cold turkey or it was never going to happen & just kept offering the cup. Eventually after about 15 mins of crying at night he took it, & over a few days I slowly started adding formula to the cup with 1/2 pumped milk, then 3/4 & so on, & I swear after about a week he totally forgot about BFing & just went straight from boob to sippy cup.
