can you drink and breastfeed? obviously not simultaneously, but for those that are currently breastfeeding what have you heard and what do you do?

You should look this up on La Leche League, they have lots of info. But in a nutshell, one drink takes roughly 3 hours to get out of your system. So don't breastfeed during that time.

If you're pumping and breastfeeding you can pump and dump: after you've had a drink dump what you pump next time and feed your baby stored breastmilk instead. Now, I have a lot of milk so I can afford to occasionally dump so it's a personal thing of course!

You don't need to pump and dump unless you are feeling engourged. Milk doesn't get stored in your breast. Once alcohol is out of your system its out of milk also. But if you pump right after a drink it won't eliminate the alcohol, you still have to wait the three hours.
