Can someone please tell me if there is a difference in frozen breast milk vs. fresh breast milk? Does breast milk lose anything by being frozen? I have gone back to work, and am pumping 2 times a day, so my ds gets some fresh milk, but I also have to thaw some frozen milk for him so he has enough until I get home. Thanks!

It's fine you just need to use it quickly, my dd doesn't even notice any difference.

Heres the La leche league information: Forzen milk in a regular freezer is good for 3-4months when you freeze it fresh, fresh milk in the fridge is good for 8days and room temp for 10hrs, THAWED breast milk is good in the fridge for 24hrs and room temp for 1hr, and don't mix froozen and freash milk until they are the same temp/ Hope this helps

As far as I understand, by freezing milk you distroy some of the antibodies, but its still better than formula because, among other reasons, it has none at all. Also, its best to not keep it in the freezer for too long, because milk changes as your baby grows.
