why is my baby's poo green? everyone says it should be yellowish but it looks like she's been eating grass! everything else seems to be fine. she is breastfed with only the very rare bottle of formula, she is two months old, and i am very confused!

Are you feeding off both breasts or one? Sometimes if you feed off both sides and switch too soon they don't get enough hindmilk. Too much foremilk will make their poo green. It could also be something in your diet.

My daughter had the same thing, I asked the Dr about it and he said the color of poop does not bother him, he is only concerned if there is any blood in it. I also asked if it could be a milk inbalance and he said no. I am not sure what caused it but it is gone now, and I am not doing anything different. Hope that helps a little.

I was told by the pedi. that it is caused by something you eat. Like if you eat a bunch of carrots the poo will be orange, and lots of broccoli or green beans: green. So it is no big deal. If it is frothy and green then it is a hind milk imbalance.

thx guys. it is not frothy so i will assume its ok. it is actually fluctuating nnow between dark green, light green, and mustard-yellow. although this morning it was orange...don't think i'll be eating pumpkin pie any time soon...

Emma just had a green pooh yesterday and she's 2 months old too. I didn't eat anything out of the ordinary either. I've read it's not a sign of anything bad though so I'm not too worried. I'll mention it to her doc on Tuesday.

I get the occasional green poo, didn't think much of it, but now reading some of the posts, I'm wondering if my milk isn't nutritious enough...Lisa, how's Jasmin feeling now?
