Any breastfeeding moms out there with babies that are allergic to cow's milk in your breast milk? How did you find out? I'm concerned that dairy allergy may be making my son fussy/rashy. My daughter was a model baby with no fussiness at all, but we tried to supplement her with formula and found she was allergic (she would immediately develop a rash on her chest/tummy). My milk never bothered my daughter--just direct exposure and she got over the allergy when she was around 18 months. Now my 5 week old son is having terrible colic-like symptoms with night crying and upset stomach and I'm wondering if he's also allergic and maybe more sensitive than she was.

I just saw my doctor today and spoke to her about my 4 week old baby crying when not on the boob. I asked her about colic and she told me to stop dairy to test to see if that would make a difference. I drink alot of milk so she also suggested supplementing with calcium. I am curious to know if this will make a difference as my lo cries and nurses for hours on end. I'll let yo know if there is any difference/ My other daughter who is 2 was colic as well. So we shall see.
