is it ok to take diet drinks(such as slim-fast) while breastfeeding...i am asking this for a friend who had a son on feb. 2nd...she is about to begin dieting to lose some "baby fat" does anyone have any safe ideas for the new momma???

to stay healthy and keep up milk production she'll need 2200 calories a day. there is nothing wrong with eating healthy and exercising. thats the way to do it. but serious dieting is a gray area. she should really talk to her dr.

2000 is the norm look on the back of any food product it will tell you that the daily recommendation of calories is 2000.
