OK, my baby was born 11/1/05 and I just got my period today! I thought at first it was just post-partum normal bleeding, but I stopped that bleeding like two weeks ago. The blood is bright red and I have cramps, headache, the whole 9. How is this possible, I thought I wouldn't get my period for months because of breastfeeding.???????????

I think that some people do get their period while bf. Check this out: http://www.breastfeed-essen
tials.com/menstruation.html
There should be a dash between beastfeed essentials.

No dash in essentials or after html.

HI I started the mini pills at 4wks PP. I still strictly breastfeed and I spotted and bleed and still do at 9 wks PP. I thought BF you wouldnt have one and being on th e pill surely not. GUESS WAS WRONG. Since my second pack of pills, I have not bled any

I got my regular period back at 7 weeks pp, despite exclusively breastfeeding. Some of us are just unlucky.

Thanks guys, you've been really helpful. Next question---is it safe to use tampons now? I didn't have any pads or tampons on hand so I had to cut up one of my son's diapers and create a weird pad for now but obviously this won't work for long!!! lol. And I hate wearing pads. But I want to do what's safe.

Have you had your 6 week check up yet? If not, I would avoid using tampons for now. If you (like me) absolutely cannot stand the thought of a pad, call your dr. and ask.
