Ok so i brestfeed and give formula to my daughter.. but i've notice that if i go a day without BF her she doesnt poop.
But when i do it can be a little or alot she will poop right away.
This morning i gave her not even 5 min of BM and she pooped.
Her poops where yellowish for the 1st week she was born. but ever since its always been green..
My concern is her bowl movement.. is this happening to anyone else? She turned a month Aug. 9th

Julia, I'm pretty sure that when breastfeeding, babies poop A LOT more...like every feeding pretty much. With formula it is a lot less. Yellow and green poops are normal for bf babies. Ava is doing green ones now and I think she may not be getting the hindmilk...I posted about it on the Infant Care forum...

Yes bf babies poop a lot more as its so much more easy to digest. From what I remember yellow and green along with a few other colors, lol, can be normal but you want to get to know whats normal for your lo. Mucus and blood can mean an intolerance or mucus can mean they need more hindmilk. I really should read into it again #2 is due in Oct. Good luck!

Hi ladies- I just wanted to add one little thing- along w/ b.f. babies having yellowish poo, it is also a "seedy" looking consistency- this is totally normal & nothing to be worried about. Good luck to all of you! I am due w/ #2 in oct & exclusivly b.f. #1 for a year- hope I do as good this time around. My 1st is a boy & this one is a girl.

Most formulas have iron which could bind baby up a bit. It is normal for them not to poop as much when they are being fed formula. I am nursing and supplementing with formula and there are days where my little girl doesn't poop at all. Im not worried so long as she is not showing any signs of distress. Exclusively breast fed babies will poop several times a day. Breast Milk goes right through them.
