I had an outbreak a couple weeks beforehand but my baby was also breech. Most friends I know just lie about it and say pelvic bone too small, breech or fetal distress. People don't need to know if you don't want to tell them. I would just say my doctor advised it or something...

I wouldn't tell anyone. It's none of their business. Just say that you had some problems prior to the pregnancy that wouldn't allow you to deliver vaginally. That is the truth, but you shouln't feel the need to elaborate. Besides you are doing what is best for the baby and that is all that matters. Just think about that wonderful little bundle of joy you will be holding in your arms. Don't worry about other people, only worry about that little person inside you and yourself!!
