Well, maybe the baby will drop and you will be fine, some babies don't drop until labor, especially first babies. But if you do have to have the c, just ask lots of questions before the surgery, like the day before and watch for any complications. Since this is your first birth I suggest you really demand an explanation on why you are having this surgery. It can determine how all future babies have to be delivered. Even though you are nervous, you will be okay, just keep the nurses aware of how you are feeling and ask that they keep you informed so the not knowing doesn't eat at you. TAKE THE PAIN MEDS before the pain gets rough, and get moving as soon as you can, if you get gas pains under that brand new incision you will be an unhappy lady! Make sure you have help at home and that your prescriptions are filled before you need them. Best of luck to you, maybe you will go into spontaneous labor before Tuesday :>) |

Ok, so I just wrote a message for you on the "what caused a c/s thread". I did not see this one. Actually, I think that I am going to cut and paste it for you..... |

This is what I posted......Bonnie, I would advise you to take it easy. Enjoy your last days with your partner without the baby and try and relax. Finish packing bc now you are going to need more stuff. You are going to be in the hospital longer. If I was you, I would not take a look at anything that says c/s. I saw your question on the Infant Care and I think that you might be stressing yourself out. Good luck honey. |

Congrats, Bonnie. I had a similar experience with a possible c-section last month. I wish I could say my operative experience was as "fun" but it wasn't. I too went into labor before the scheduled day. But baby was too big and I went in for the cs after 10 hours. I had instant problems with the anesthesia and almost quit breathing! Then I had bleeding and all hell broke loose. My baby girl is okay but I had to have blood transfusions and extra surgery! I guess you just never know, in my case all the fretting was for good reason. Do you find it is more painful after the c-section than it was during labor? I do. I really thought it would be over if you know what I mean. Anyhow, I guess each c-section is different and I am happy for you. I will probably wait a couple of years and then try for a VBAC, I don't want to do a c again. Hope your baby is healthy and I love the name :~) |

Marie, I am so sorry tohear that, how awful! I am having very little pain at all. I wasn't even taking the pain meds but the doc just ordered me to take them as I can't sleep well and he says they will knock me out, lol. I aminly only feel sore when coughing,m sneezing, etc. But everyday walking around I don't even feel. The nurses all acted really shocked about how easy I was getting about. Honestly, I think that just has to do withthe doctor I had. Too many nurses made comments prior about ow good he was at c-sections. So my quick recovery must have something to do with that I would imagine. The only reaction the to the drugs I had was the my blood pressure kept dropping and I threw up a few times during labor. Started getting sick in the sergery too but he gave me something to calm it down. I'm really sorry you had a bad experience! :( I am really counting myself lucky now! |
