I had a planned c-section for Tuesday 25th July, but at 3.30 am on the 23rd July my waters broke. I was lying in bed asleep and I felt a kick down below (my baby was breech) and a gush of water. I ran to the bath room and my pjs were all wet and covered with blood. It was only when my waters broke that I felt the contractions. When my waters broke my contractions were 10 minutes apart. I had a bath to ease the contractions and at 5am dh and I set of for the hospital, by this time my contractions were 4 minutes apart and I felt like I was dying they hurt so bad. We got to the hospital at 5.15am and I was checked straight away as my contractions were now 2-3 minutes apart, the doctor said I was 5cm dilated and I could if I wanted to have a normal birth even though my baby was still breech as my labour was going very quickly. I said no as they didin't know how big my pelvis was and with the baby's head being the biggest part and the last to come out I was scared that the head would get stuck. They prepared the operating room and at 5.45am I was taken into surgery and my contractions were now 1 minute apart and some were doubling up. The doctor checked me again and I was now 10cms dilated and she asked again if I wanted to try a normal deliever, but I was still scared of the head getting stuck so they did a c-section. When my baby came out they put her straight on my chest and I don't think I have ever felt so much love for anaything as I did when I saw my little girl. The labour and c-section were not as bad as I had thought they would be as the labour part went so quickly 2 1/2 hours and I had no pain releive apart from the spinal bloke for the c-section but by the time they did the section I was already 10 cms. I have been told by the doctors that becuase this was my first baby and my labour was very quick I should have no problem having a normal delviery next time.
