I had a c-section in Feb. 2007 and I continue to have severe pain in my right abdominal region. This pain prevents me from bending at the waist and I continue to have sensitivity to touch, and intermittent sharp stabbing pain. My OB performed a laparoscopic procedure to see if she could identify the cause of my pain. She was not able to find anything. I had MRI's on my Neck, Back, Pelvic, right and left wrists. All tests came back negative. My OB says this pain is a super fiscal pain that will not show up on a test. Since all of these tests have come back negative my doctors are starting to give up on me and have said they have tried all that they know and can't figure out why I am still having so much pain. The doctors are not willing to explore without confirmation of the problem.

My son is about to turn a year now and I cannot bend down to pick him up without severe pain. My doctors keep prescribing medication such as percoset, and Lyrica. These medicines have provided me with little relief. I was wondering if anyone else has experienced this type of pain and what tests were performed that identified nerve damage.

I am getting extremely frustrated with my doctors giving up on me. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I had a ceserean section Oct. 2005. I have experienced the same pain on the right side of the incision as about some of you have from reading. It is a burning sensation, pressure, pin prick feeling, and cramping feeling and worsens with period. It is a constent feeling and worsens with excersise. In Feb. 2006 I had gone to the E.R. because the pain was had gotten so bad, I had a CAT Scan, showing nothing. From there through out the year of 2006 and 2007 I had gone through many CAT Scans, MRIs, and ultrasounds along with many doctors prodding and pocking me, all with negative test results. Then in April 2006, my OB GYN put me on Depro Prevera to ease the pain and in case of endometriosis, No relief to this day. About May 2007 my ObGyn thouth it might be a neuroma, in which case they injected me with a numbing agent, but no relief. Then about July 2007 my ObGyn thought it might be nerve entrapment, refered me to neurologist, He said it wasn't. Then in August 2007 my Primary Physician refered me to my ObGyn to perform laprascopy. But my ObGyn, September 2007, just said it best to perform exploratory surgery to look for an explanaion for the pain. I had sugery November 2007, where the opened up just the right part of the original incision, they foung a little bit of a hernia, it might have been an innermitten hernia, but don't quote me. I and now numb from the new incision and am still experiencing all the same pains a before, if not a little worse. Numbness they say may be caused by rubbing a nerve wrong. My ObGyn refered me to the General Surgen because they are up un arms about why I am still in pain and now numb. The GS said the aslo is up in arms as to the explanaition. I have an appointment once again with my ObGyn in two weeks. Be hopefull all of you and continue to push at your doctors for an explanation. Be strong for all of us and all of the other mothers out there. I thought I was the only person oout in this world, Literally, With this pain until now. Thank you. Brandi.

Brandi, you took the words right out of my mouth. I feel the same way & thank you for sharing! I'm sorry you have been going through your situation for 2 yrs!! It's an experience that makes you feel alone & frustrated I'm sure. Knowing already that your family & friends are also at their whits end and you don't want to impose more on them more than you already have (sound familar). Not to mention we are supposed to be enjoying the most wonderful experience, our children, & I don't know about you but I sometimes feel that I missed alot of it. I know that he won't remember but it's something I have to live with everyday, so in effort to try & not to miss it I put myself in discomfort everyday to gain the experience. Sorry, this experience has been really emotional. I too have also had a CAT scans amongst all the MRI's with and without contrast, EMG's to come up empty. I've almost become used to the thought of being a statistic... but we are still trying, many $$$ later if you know what I mean. Atleast your OB is giving you ideas, my OB gave up a long time ago so I went to a different one which is why I had the laparoskopy but it's a deadend. My OB and GS both agree that it will do me more harm than good to 'open' me back up.. that's great, but what do we do in the mean time, ya know! I do have a small inguinal (spell?) hernia but they both agree that its not big enough to be causing me the pain. We are getting a second opinion with neurosurgeon & a neurologist in hopes that new people will bring on new ideas... I'm just sick of seeing dr's right now.. I'm so over it. But we'll keep trying since its affecting by ability to work & want to get a sense of normalcy. We'll continue on for answers, as I hope you are as well. Now we know that there IS someone else who is going through something similar, and that we are not alone and are NOT crazy!

I am having the same pain at only 4 months and being dismissed. It'll be interesting to see what happens for me because I want to have a second right away.
