My understanding was that scheduled sections were done at 38 weeks to avoid emergency sections if you were to go into labor. So I don't see why you couldn't ask if surgery could be scheduled sooner. The most they can say is no.

My doc told me that for liability reasons, they could not schedule before 39 weeks unless it was medically necessary. I was scheduled at 39 weeks, but my water broke at 38 weeks so I had the baby then.

Well, as long as the baby is mature, and teh dates are absolutely, irrefuteably correct.
