Hi All,
I am currently 34 weeks pregnant and will be having my 4th C Section on April 23rd. I don't remember if I had the epidural or spinal for my last one, which was 4 years ago. I do remember the tech was rushing for my doctor to get started, and I remember feeling uncomfortable during until after the baby came out. I think this was due to her being so heavy and me lying flat on my back. Anyway, I just want to hear from those of you that have had a spinal. How does it feel? and what are the risks?

I had a very good experience. Aside from it being very cold in the room, I was fairly comfortable. The spinal itself didn't hurt going in like I thought it would. I'd terrified of needles, so that was the biggest fear for me with my boys. I felt no pain, just an enormous amount of pressure since they push on you a lot while trying to get them out.
good luck and congratulations!!

I have had 4 c-sections and all were spinals, the only issue I had was my last c-section the anesthesiologist wouldn't tell me that she was going to prick me she would just do it and I would flinch, very dangerous. I finally had to tell her to warn me that way I wouldn't jump and when she did tell me I didn't flinch because i know when she was going to do it. The only issue I ever had it worked too well and took quiet awhile to move my legs. Also I did got scabs where they pricked my spine and that's about it.
Oh ya my X sister in law had an epidural with her first c-section and because she said she felt it they had to give her another one? I'm not sure how true this is because she is a chronic liar.

I had spinals with both of my c-sections, with no problems. About all I could feel was the movement from side to side when they were tryong to wriggle the big guys out. Also, I vomit from the anesthetic (sp?) and they have to give me gravol during the procedure, but they say that's from the blood pressure change? There was a girl at the hospital who gave birth the same day I did with my second and she got a terrible headache for 3 days after the spinal. She couldn't sit up to breastfeed even. I don't think this is very common though.
