I HAVE HAD 3 C-SECTIONS THE FIRT 9 YRS AGO, DUE TO PRE TERM LABOR AND THE BABY BEING BREACH, THE SECOND I HAD GOT TO 8 CENIMETERS HE PULLED OUT OF THE BIRTH CANAL AND LODGED IN MY HIP. THE THIRD WAS A JUST BECUASE, IT WAS SCEDULED, CAN I TRY FOR A NATURAL BIRTH IF I BECOME PREGNANT AGAIN?

Hi, I have a c-section scheduled for the 25th July as my baby is breech. When discussing the c-section with my consultant he said that you can normally try a VBAC but you will have to be watched closely, but after two c-sections you can't have a VBAC as you will have 2 weak points on your womb, so I don't think a doctor will allow to you to try a natural birth if you have already had 3 c-sections.

I think it would be rare for a doctor to let you try. It would be very risky to you and baby. I've had three c-sections as well.

hi there, I have had 3 sections myself and I think it would be very risky to you and your baby to attempt a VBAC at this point

I normally try to lay low on this VBAC topic since it's so controversial, but I think it's probably too risky in this case. And the other posters are right... I think it would be tough to find a doc who would support a VBAC in this situation.

Hi, just had to chime in here as this is very relevant to me. I had 3 c sections due to distress, breech and the last was convenience (I thought I was done). Had my fourth child by v bac in 2000. I now am pregnant again. After being told for quite a while that I would be allowed to vbac again, they have now changed their minds and put the pressure on me to change my mind. The last Dr. basically told me I would be a negliegent (sp) mother if I had a vbac. I dont think I would be so aggrivated if they had just been honest up front. The only thing that really bothers me though is they dont mention any of the risks associated with R section and there are risks. Having said that I know that everyone has their own opinion about the safety issues etc. Good luck to you either way

Insurances are really tying drs and hospitals hands when it comes to vbacs. Very few are willing to give drs the go ahead especially after two sections. Mal practice insurances are even chiming in and not covering drs who perform vbacs in some areas. That may be the difference between a 2000 vbac and a 2006 vbac??

crazymom.. i'm trying for a vbac with my 2nd- due sept 18. i would love to hear about your experience! i'm having a hard time find other vbac moms out there. you could email me at jml043077@yahoo.com babygirl & others: i think so much of it depends on the situation of previous labors whether likely to repeat and even on the current pregnancy and situations. also the area you live in seems to have some bearing on it. i live in MI and there are still several practices and hospitals here that support it. good luck which ever you chose!

julesnac,
try this page. There are a lot of women on there that have had or are trying for vbac.
babygirl2000, unfortunately, the more csections you have the less likely you are to find a doctor that will let you attempt it. I actually had to change hospitals because they banned vbac for insurance reasons. I have only had one csection and I was pretty pissed that I would be forced to have major surgery whether I needed it or not.
