My sister-in-law is 4-5 weeks pregnant and is experiencing some pulling or tugging or cramping sensations at where her c-section scar is from having her daughter 17 months ago. Is this normal to have those sensations at the scar site? I know everything is stretching. I can't help her because I was blessed enough to have my three girls vaginally, but told her I would do some research. Did anyone have this same intermittent pulling, tugging, almost cramping sensation at their scar site early in a subsequent pregnancy? Thank you very much!!!

I have had 3 c-sect. before and will be having my 4th in March. It is very normal to be experiencing that feeling. I had it with all 3 of my preg. following c-sect. Doctor said it is due to muscle stretching in preg. as well as scar tissue.

Thank you. I will let my sister-in-law know. Hopefully, it will put her mind at ease a little. She had a miscarriage before her daughter and it has her freaked. She talked with her OB and had an U/S yesterday and everything looked good, but she needs encouragement. Thanks again!!!

I had it too, early in my second pregnancy. It went away by about the fifth month.

If it doesn't go away, she may have some issues with prior scar tissue and/or adhesions at the inceision site. This is something that should be brought up with her doctor. It may be just the normal ilks of early pregnancy. If her bladder (like mine) is adhered to her uterus the doctor needs to be aware.
