Increased Chance Of C-section If Petite Size?

Hi

I'm hoping to have an elective c-section. I've read that if a woman is small in height, under 5ft 1 inch, she's more likely to have to have an emergency c-section.

Does anyone know of any evidence to prove this? or have personal experience?

I myslef am 4 ft 10 inches and weigh 104 lbs, I'm currently 15 weeks pregnant.

I am 5ft. even, I just had my second c-section 3 weeks ago. My doctor told me that my pelvis is very narrow, possibly too small to push a baby out. She said that may be why I had to have an emergency cesarian with my first child. Maybe you could ask your doctor to do a pelvic exam and tell you what your pelvis feels like. It's not about your height but about your pelvis, short women push babies out all the time.
