Pregnancy After A C-section

hi my name is veronica iam 3weeks out the hospital from having an emergency c-section.I was 24 weeks & she. arrived on aug.3,2009 and departed this world on aug.6,2009.she came three months early and was very premature.this is my first c-section,but my 2nd angel thats in heaven watching over me.my 1st was a vaginal delivery in 0ct.2002.But my question was how long should i wait to resume intercourse with my partner & try to conceive & start a family with the intent of my wound healing.............THANKS

Usually 6 weeks is recommended before intercourse. I'm sorry to hear about your little girl and ur 1st child. I lost my son Caleb in may 08 he was 7.5 months old. He was born oct 07. Caleb was my 4th c.section and there was only 12 months and 4 days bewtween him and my daughter she was 13 oct 06 he was 17 oct 07. I am currently preg with no.5 so wil be havin 5th c.section early dec. Good luck and best wishes . ( thats my son in my profile pic)

If you want to try for a VBAC (vaginal birth after cesarean) they recommend at least 18 months between births so you'd need to wait 9 months. My daughter will be 18 months old when my baby is born later this month and I am doing a VBAC at home with a Nurse Midwife. Best of luck to you!
