I have gained quite a bit of weight during my tpregnancy. This is my first one, and Im in my 8th month. I've gained 40lbs already, and i worried that my baby may be big too...People keep telling me, oh your some big for only being 31 weeks. It must be a big baby, or it must be a boy. I need to know if this is true?

Hi Julie,
A friend of mine gained almost 60 lbs., everyone said her baby was going to be huge...it was 5lbs 7ounces. It just depends. I on the other hand have only gained 12 lbs. (I am 23 weeks) at my ultra sound they determined the baby was measuring in the 90th percentile, soooo I do have a big baby and have not gained a lot of weight. Everyone is different...is your doctor worried? For instance, my midwife isn't worried I will just be monitored as it gets closer to see if they need to schedule a c-section or think I can push the little chunker out, hee hee. Good luck!
