Losing Weight On Gestational Diabetes Diet.

I was diagnosed with gestational diabetes and have been on a special diet for about 6weeks now and I've lost 6lbs.
I'm 5'8" started my pregnancy at 140lbs, I'm 8 months now and weigh 150. I was up to 156lbs about 6 weeks ago. My Dr. seems totally fine about the weight loss and says it happens.
I think its a little strange since I wasn't overweight to start with and now I've only gained 10lbs total and I'm due to have the baby in 4.5 weeks.
My Dr. is like don't worry about it, then you won't have much to lose when you're done.
Anyone else have a similar experience with a gestational diabetes diet?
