Hi
Im 26+ weeks pregnant with my first baby and pre-pregnancy was at a normal weight and have been healthy eating/exercising and dieting for the past 3/4 years.
I have found that i have been eating a poor diet during my pregancy so far - it has been nice not having too restrict myself but now im worried ive gone too far and hardly eating anything healthy i just crave fat & sugar - is it too late to re-vamp my eating at this stage?
Will i lose weight if i cut out sugar and fat now - is it ok to cut back?

Hi Sam, I'd be interested to know the answer to this too. Before pregnancy, I was an extremely healthy, vegetarian eater. In my 1st trimester, I wasn't at all interested in veggies. Now, I'm afraid the bad habits are sticking. How do we get back on track again?

Hi Sam, have you been checked for gestational diabetes cos you shouldnt be craving sugar like that. You should try and eat foods with a low GI - brown rice, wholemeal bread etc. It stabilises blood sugar and makes you feel fuller longer.

It's never to late to change your diet and start eating better. Still have a treat every now and then though or you'll go crazy!

Maybe just try and switch your sweet foods from junk to something with a nutritional benefit. I was the same and what got me through was a truck load of homemade banana smoothies. Satisfied the sweet tooth but was healthy too.
