I appologize if you have read this under another category, I just didn't know where to post it...
Hi there,
My question/worry has been posted before, but the post and its responses are over a year old. I was hoping some of the worried pregnant woman (who must be mothers by now) can respond:
I drank like a fish for 3 weeks since my conception. I know some of you express concern for the occasional ONE or TWO glass of wine, but I drank much much more than that. As I knew I was going to drink a lot during my vacation, I took a preg test before I left which was day 28 and it was negative. My cycle is 28-36 days, average 33. Again, I took a test on day, 31, 35 and finally on day 38 I got a positive!!! The whole while I was drinking excessively. YUCK. Of course, I will not drink from here on out, I know myself too well and its too difficult for me to have just one drink, so I will naturally and gladly completely abstain.
Now of course I am worried, worried, worried. I have my first dr. appt tomorrow, actually I scheduled with 2 different drs. to get 2 opinions.
Any comments out there..? I have read it all: from the "all or nothing" period, to not to worry about what was drunk, to the extreme one time binge can result in full-blown FAS.
If possible I would like to hear personal experiences rather than just opinions as the latter might just end up judging myself and people in my predicament. Hope you understand : )
