I am in my 6th week and recently had a serving of sea bass at a dinner. Is the mercury content in the fish gonna harm the pregnancy?

Hi Cyn,

I am wondering how your pregnancy went as i also ate sea bass recently...

Sea bass has actually been stricken from the safe foods list. It has been shown to contain higher levels of mercury and should be avoided. Canned tuna is safe but make sure you don't eat more than 12 ounces per week. Also avoid shark, swordfish, kink mackerel, fresh tuna and tilefish. Also make sure you avoid anything, fish or meat, that has been undercooked. Especially if it has been ground or processed. Always cook meats and fish until they are steaming hot!
