I think I might be also. I have had stomach problems since before I got pregnant and they can't figure out what it is. They would have gone in and looked, but I found out I was pregnant and said that I would have to wait until after the baby. It has made this pregnancy VERY difficult. I have been miserable most of the time and I haven't gained much weight because all the foods I like bother me. I started out at 5'1" and 102 and am only 118 in my almost 37th week. The baby is growing fine, but my concern is my health....Hang in there.....

I had gallstones which were undiagnosed for 11 months. The second half of those 11 months I was having daily attacks and was completely debilitated. Avoid any fatty foods (and in some people you should also avoid caffeine, tomatoes and cucumber). Be especially wary of transfats which I found to be the worst offenders. Thankfully that was long before I was pregnant -- I would have been in even worse shape (if that were even possible) without my narcotics.

hi amer...i think i have developed gallstones or gallbladder broblems. the pain was so bad last night i cried. it lasted 2 hours and started right under my sternum...a little to the right. then it wrapped around my side to my shoulderblade. my husband told me it was probably that as he has suffered from both gallstones and kidney stones. i have had this pain about 3-4 times now in the last month, but not quite as severe as last night and the attacks lasted only maybe 20-30minutes. i just chalked it up to indegestion ( the first time i thought OMG its my heart, but then i realized the pain was too far to the right) anyway, does that sound familiar? i have not been diagnosed, but my dr. told me next time go to the ER where my baby will be delivered for monitoring and to make sure exactly what it is.....than you for this post!!!

I don't know if I am having gallbladder attacks or not. I am 25 weeks pregnant and have severe joint problems which have caused years of suffering. During pregnancy, I can't take any of the anti-inflamammatory meds, pain meds, and electric stem that I normally take. Before pregnancy my lower back and hips always hurt the worst. For about 3 weeks I have severe pain just beneath my right shoulder blade which extends just beneath my rib cage as well. The pain is almost unbearable. I've noticed that greasy foods such as fries or acidic drinks such as soda or lemonade seem to agitate it the most. Its difficult to sleep or perform normal daily activities the pain is so severe. Pushing down on my rib cage sometimes offers mild relief. It concerns me because the joint pain was absolutely horrible before the pregnancy and worse during the pregnancy. A new source of severe pain is very overwhelming.

I finally went to the doctor today for the back pain and pian under my rib cage. The doctor thinks it is my Gallbladder and I go for an ultrasound on Monday. I am terrified. I can barely function at times because the pain is so sever. I am ineffective at work because of the interference of pain. The doctor said surgery or accepting the pain are the only options. Has anyone ever had surgery during pregnancy? Is anyone familiear with natural remedies to surgery?

I am 12 weeks and two weeks ago I had the worst pain i have ever felt in my right side and back under my ribcage. I went to my doctor and he said it definitely sounded like gallbladder, either stones or an attack. I was scheduled for an ultrasound but i couldn't get in for a week. But in the ultrasound they didn't see any stones but in my blood test i had elevated levels of something that involves your gallbladder. But i would make sure you have told your doctor and with the next blood test they do they can check your gallbladder chemical (what ever it is called.) My doctor said it is very normal for the gallbladder to act up while pregnant and usually it just makes an uncomfortable couple months and you can have it removed once you deliver if it has become very problematic. Stay away from really fatty foods but don't cut all fat out that can cause the same reaction. Also dont lay down right after you eat.
