Sick, Sick, Tired And More Sick!

Morning sickness is unfortunately quite common for the first trimester and should lessen around 12 weeks or so. There's no quick fix, but I found (although rather late) that keeping liquids separate from solids at meal time really helped. Soup just made me more nauseous. Very strangely, apples also helped settle my stomach. None of the more traditional foods you eat when your nauseous helped me -- soda crackers were horrible too. Try making sure you eat 4-5 evenly spaced smaller meals instead of 3 bigger ones. |

I know how this is going to sound, but hear me out... I was uncontrolably sick at 5 weeks all day long and i missed a lot of work, or would end up puking in the bathrooms when i did make it in to work. After 3 weeks of this, my roommate handed me a joint as soon as i woke up, before i made it to the bathroom, i took one hit and went right back to sleep for an hour or so and felt fine all day. We did this for about 4 or 5 days, and i woke up not feeling nausous at all, and i havnt been sick sence! I know it my be unconventional and controversial, but i havnt smoked sence then and its the only thing that worked. I even told my doctor about it, and she said well it is medicidal and as long as your not continuing to smoke through your pregnancy its perfectly fine. So i dont know if its for you, but it worked for me. |

Dani, let me just say that your story is really funny. However I did read on one of these sites that smoking cigarettes does keep you from getting sick during your first trimester although it can really harm the baby. I'm wishing this was one of those times when time really does fly because I can't even stand the taste of my own mouth!!! :( |

mommy2b28 dani is not referring to cigarettes, she is referring to using marijuana for medicinal purposes. |
