Okay this may be TMI and an odd question as well, so here goes. I gave birth to my first baby about 7 years ago. I had no tearing and healed quickly started having inter course again within 5 weeks after, all was good. About 2 months after I started noticing this pain in my buttocks and migrating towards my vagina and pelvis after having an orgasm. It was a shooting pain that felt like it was going up my butt and it was hard to sit still or walk around, It made me feel like I should sit on the toilet too, but couldnt have a bowel movement or anything. This pain lasted about 6 months and then started to dissapate, so I thought maybe it was my body still recovering and healing from giving birth. I got this pain again off and on though I'd say once every couple mnths. After the birth of 2nd baby almost 4 years ago I got the pain again only it never went away just became less frequent. I never get this pain when pregnant only after. I'm prgo with 3rd now and scared I'll get it again. I don't know why I havent asked my dr. about this since I've had this pain for so long, I just want to know if anyone else has experienced this? It just seems embarrassing to me I guess.

It may be that you have a pinched nerve. The pelvis and surrounding joints loosen up while you are pregnant to help with passage of the baby at delivery. I dont remember the name but there is a certain nerve, that when pinched, can cause pain with orgasms. I would suggest talking to your MD about. They may want you to stretch or see a chiropractor. I dont know if this is any help.

you may be suufering post natal symphisis pubis dysfunction, you can have an xray to determine this. Normally this problem happens during pregnancy and goes almost immediately after the brith, however some women suffer after pregnancy only and it can go on for years. You can have a surgery to have the pelivc bone wired together if it causes that much problems from you. i suffer with this during pregnancy only but am having the surgery as its dehabilitating enough that i end up in a wheelchair by 30 weeks.
